Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price. Great performance. Used this ammo in a Romanian WASR-10 and it's performed flawlessly. Zero FTF's and zero FTE's. What more can you ask for?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Perfectly in IWI Galil ACE pistol Tried these just to see if the ACE could manage...it did perfectly and was grouping around 1" at 25 yards from a rest using the stock iron sights. Ejected into a neat area and not all scattered about. Not dirty was a bonus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Steel Case Ammo Anywhere Monarch ammo is made with a steel case but has none of the problems of other steel case ammo. Those of you who have shot steel case know that all other steel cased ammo on the market (remaining nameless) have occasional problems with failure to feed, stovepiping and failure to extract. This is especially true in AR15s as the tolerances are much tighter in that platform than AKs are. AR receivers are typically milled as opposed to stamped as most AKs are. Extractors in AR platform rifles and pistols sometimes have problems with that hard steel case that has much less "give" than brass cases. This is where the Monarch shines. I don't know how they do it but they use a metal that is much "softer" than the other steel case rounds and it allows it to act exactly as brass does with an AR extractor. I have run literally thousands of rounds of this ammunition through my AR15s and have never once had a failure to extract caused by the case. The price of this ammunition makes it a steal compared to regular brass ammo and works just as well in an AR. It is a hidden gem because most people think that all steel case has problems whereas Monarch does not. I would trust my life to it in a gunfight.

I heard that you can shoot 7.62 in a 308. rifle is that right? also if you can shoot 7.62 from a 308. what is the difference in calibers?

Asked by: 12or20
12or20, If you are asking about shooting 7.62x51 NATO rounds in a rifle chambered for .308 Winchester then the short answer is yes, they are for most purposes identical other than purchasing the military cartridge you'll be typically limited to full metal jacketed bullets and the .308 will come loaded with hunting/sporting bullets. Google ".308 vs 7.62x51" to get in depth details on things such as primer type and case thickness details.  If you're asking about 7.62x39 vs .308 then no, they can't be fired out of the same rifle. Not only are the actual bullet diameters different in spite of both being called 7.62mm (.311" for the Soviet round and .308" for the NATO/commercial round), the case dimensions are totally different. The "x39" refers to the overall case length being 39mm while the "x51" is 51mm long, but there are other dimensional differeces, too. Hope this helps.
