You get what you pay forI've had this combo for about 3 weeks now the second time I used it the bail let loose from 1 side of the reel. It seems a small sliver of metal they used to hold it in place popped out, ok no big deal got out the super glue so I wouldn't have to return it and eat the cost of new line then have to buy more line to string the replacement. I used this rod again this weekend, hooked into a 2 lb largemouth and heard a crack after getting the fish in I inspected the rod and found it completely broke where the handle meets the main rod. It's definitely going back now next time I'll spend a little more for a better quality combo.

Mitchell Avocet R ComboRecently bought this combo and tried it out this past weekend. I love it! Didn't catch anything but I like the way it cast and retrieved. I think it's a great combo.

It catches fishBought this a few days ago in the store and it works. I think the thing this combo has going for it other than price is the rod. It's a simple graphite rod, but I like it. It is pretty light, easy to carry (its a 2 piece rod) and I got enough feed back to tell what the bottom of the lake is like. The reel, on the other hand, is pretty bad. It was really rough reeling it especially when a fish was on the other end. It does not come spooled (no line), so you will need some. I used some cheap Berkley 10lb monofilament xl, but I would recommend 8lb on it. I gave this 4 stars and recommend it because it is really affordable (to me at least) and I caught fish with it. Is it the best thing out there? Heck no. But I think it is good enough, especially if you are just getting into fishing.

decent setup for the beginnerBought this setup a couple weeks ago to go out fishing without having to dig out my regular gear. Took it out the first day and had nothing but problems with the spool, every cast it will blow out, if you use a finger to help during the caddy you can use it as a decent regular setup.
