all it should be!the unit is all i hoped it would be. but that's thanks to the manufacturer. you guys need to offer extended offer on your sales; I, like others are willing to pay, it's not anything out of your coffers!

Patients pays off.I bought this as my first fish finder. Out of the box out was faulty. Sent in under warranty was replaced. Once hooked up and running wow I can even see my line and lure. Best addition to my kayak by far. Good product with great service. Only downfall I wish it had low voltage alarm on it so I could run lipo batteries safely and save weight

UnreliableI bought this unit a few months ago and have had it on my 14' John boat the last 3 times I have taken it out and the depth finder keeps saying I'm in 300' of water even though I just walked my boat out to waist deep water I actually hit something the other day because I thought I was in deeper water.

Nice compact unitI purchased this unit to go on my fishing kayak. It is perfect for the use. It is nice and bright even in the sun, easily read, the ability to make changes to the display are easily done and the functions are easily understood without memorizing the user manual. I have used other Lowrance products that have larger screens and while this one is small it is still very useable considering it's size.
I could also see this unit being used as a bow unit for someone operating a trolling motor or as a back seat user- I would have loved this when I was fishing with a partner in tournaments! Great little unit, cost effective for all the features it has!

Purchased for cruisingI purchased the Hook-4 with the Navionics+ card for my cruising boat. It works excellent. Updates fast and has a clear, bright screen. You would want to use it as an individual screen for sonar or chart location. I use it for chart location with a Depth and Time text overlay. Excellent unit!

Can the transducer be mounted inside a kayak and be able to work through the plastic hull?
Asked by: jenke99
Thank you for your question. A transducer can be mounted inside a kayak. Since kayaks are made of plastic, the transducer is able to shoot the beam through the plastic into the water without much disturbance. So for a kayak, you don’t always need to buy a portable fish finder that comes with a suction cup transducer.
