Very handyI have enjoyed this shallow skillet . It is a lot lighter and easier to use and clean than my deeper ones . It surprised me how much cooking i do that i dont need a deep pan , so this is just right.

Worked exactly as I had expectedI bought this griddle to use it this past weekend to cook the onions and peppers for fajitas. I then piled the meat on top of the veggies and used the griddle to keep everything warm while everyone ate.
I had no problems with food sticking to the griddle, and after dinner only had a few chunks that I had to pull off with the serving tongs. I am very satisfied with how the griddle with the factory pre-seasoning performed.
I hand washed the griddle with hot water and a little bit of soap just before using to get off any dirt and grime that might be in it from being on display at the store. I then placed it on the side burner of my gas grill and cooked the veggies while the meat was grilling. Tongs worked much better than a spatula for turning over the veggies to ensure even cooking. When served, the griddle, piled with the veggies and meat, sat on the table for over 45 minutes during dinner.
Afterwards very little food had to be coaxed off when cleaning up. Cleaning consisted of a quick scraping of the griddle with a hard piece of plastic, then I scrubbed it with a paper town and hot water. I dried it off, then, while I finished washing other dishes, I placed the griddle in the oven at 200F for about 10 minutes to remove any remaining dampness (I don't know if this was necessary, but it was an easy step to do). I then removed the griddle and gave it a wipe down of oil. When the griddle had cooled to room temperature I put it away.

The pre-seasoning is awfulGet on the Net and find instructions to season this pan correctly. A few people have taken a lot of time to season these pans and write instructions. After seasoning 4x @ *500 oven, or inside a HOT outside gas grill (better, it's a smoky job) you'll have a great pan to pass down for generations.

Great for pancakes and french toast!I use this griddle all the time for pancakes, french toast, grilled cheese, toasting buns, etc. It's great and it comes preseasoned from the factory. The other reviewer must not have a Lodge griddle because all Lodge cast iron comes preseasoned.
