Sticks good in mudI have a 27ft baja and all the lakes around here have mud bottoms. This anchor holds the boat with no issues what so ever. I tied up in the party cove line last weekend and the anchor was holding most of the line. The only issue was the anchor got to stuck and I could not get it out of the mud. It was an older one so I just tossed the line in and went to academy and bought the exact same one.

Jeff boat from
worthlessI thought buying a anchor with a coating would protect the boat, but it is worthless. The anchor does not dig in.

Don't wast your moneyI purchased this anchor due to the coating that would prevent scratching my new boat and it did the job, but on the other hand it doesn't hold a boat with moderate winds or current. The anchor won't grab due to the coating.

Great Idea, but...I bought this anchor hoping it to be easier on the Gel-Coat finish
with the PVC coating. Seemed like a great idea to me too!
Well that part is true, it does not mar the finish on the boat deck.
But the coating prevents it from biting in sand, it just drags along even with
6ft of chain. My placing this anchor by hand into the sand on the shore
it just would not bite enough and I ended up just leaving instead of enjoying
the day as others were doing. When I asked what they were doing different they
all said it was my anchor. Tried and FAILED big time in the inlets of NC and Outerbanks.
I went back with a regular uncoated anchor and it worked to perfection.
Save your money, go with the uncoated!!!

Not worth the extra moneyAnchor works fine but it is not worth the extra money. Buy the regular metal one. The white coating peels off after a few times so you will end up with a metal one regardless of which one you buy.

Pros and consI brought this for my 2012 scout 187 center console. My new galvanized one was scratching boat too much. Pros-This one took care of the scratch problem. Cons-takes a little longer to set in mud bottom, I think it's due to coated anchor corners, compared to sharp galvanized metal units. I have found that after six outings, coating on the corners have come off and now has visible rusted metal corners.
