Rated 5 out of 5 by from MilSpec true great ammo I'm a 13 year army vet and couch these rounds are surplus. They aren't reloads or any defect. Some of the best you'll get. The browning on them is the finish purposely done. It's the process the rounds go through for milspec requirements. These rounds can get wet and last forever. Notice the XM855 LPC. The XM means surplus. The military has sold heir overages to the retail market. It was originally just M without the X. Now the retailers have to sell with the x and it gets redesignated as Xm, m855. Now the rounds get sold as xm m855. Before the military sold them it was just M855. Now the LPC, is one of a few ammo production facilities. This one being the largest, Lake City ammo plant. Hence the L and the C. Look on the primer end and you'll like notice a L and a C. That's where it was made for the military. Now finally the M855 is the Army's round of choice with the green tip. Not a penetrator per se, but does have abilities to break through thicker targets before breakup. The XM193 would be the. Partial round adopted by the marine corps. So please know from very dear experience these aren't reloads, they are penetrstors, they aren't bad rounds, their packed loosely in some cases to actually save you money. Store them elsewhere if you don't want them loose like in a magazine perhaps. They do no good sitting anyways. Brute made to fire. Not look pretty. And just FYI again the brown Tint should now just make you feel good that these rounds have been through the milspec process and are in good shape. We have very strict requirements. One of them is not sending troops or civilians bad ammo that could potentially be dangerous or faulty. Hope this helps.

Is this new ammo? or reloads?

Asked by: Mustard64
Mustard and anyone wondering, this ammo is surplus ammo resold to the public. The "X" before the M (X)M855 means surplus. Most of which came from Lake City Ammo Depot. These are the exact same rounds I use in the Army on a regular basis. They feature the steel core with the green tip. they and the XM193 (boat tail/Marine Corps preferred round) are waterproof casing and will last very well in the elements. I buy the XM855 as my preference as I seem to just work better with these rounds vs the boat tail BT rounds or the XM193. As for everyday just general shooting either are good rounds. I just prefer these. i have bought this particular item numerous times and usually grab one each time I am in Academy or anywhere that has them. They may be sold by 20 different brand names, but the XM rounds are usually ALL from the same plant or few. Just resold/marketed under civilian ammo labels. You wont be disappointed with these rounds and they are what you consider the green tip/barrier penetrating/steel core rounds.
