Great for the priceI bought this product while looking for something cheap to add to my rod for extra lines in the water. It performed great. Reeled in a nice catfish with it.

InterestingThe first one I bought was great works fine the second one broke before I even got it in the water! I was messing with the drag and while I was adjusting it the cap came off! I am going to take it back and get a diferent reel to have a good variety of reels but overall a good bang for the buck!

serves the purposeI purchased this to do some flounder fishing. It does not have all the feature of an expensive reel but for $10.00 on sale it is much more then I expected. It seems pretty solid and reels smooth. How long it will last I do not know but right now I am very happy with it

Pleasantly Surprised!I mainly fish live bait, but recently a buddy of mine showed a place where you can wade the flats and we caught a fair amount of fish throwing crank baits and gotcha plugs. I brought along my smallest setups which were 4000 series reels, which I thought were light because my bigger stuff are 8000 series. After 100+ casts and 15-20 hookups, my long ago injured shoulder (torn labrum) was killing me. The only way I was going to continue this casting stuff was with a lightweight setup, and even then I was doubtful. Rather than dump 200.00 into a lightweight reel that might not solve the problem, I decided inexpensive and light were the two things I needed. My more expensive Daiwa spinners never twist braid like many cheap, wanna be reels do, so at 6.8 ounces, this was the gamble. Loaded it with 20lb test power pro, and fitted it with a nice fast action rod from my extensive arsenal. Casting was a breeze, no annoying bail snap, and the bail clicks over with ease when you want it to close. Retrieve is very good, not 150.00 smooth, but very acceptable. I landed 6 Ladyfish over 21", and the anti reverse allowed a solid hook set. It's not as instant as high end stuff, but pretty close, and very workable. The drag worked great, found the spot I needed easily, and it was quite smooth. My only complaint was that the handle nut came a bit loose twice. This could be related to braided line, and a solid graphite rod that would send significant feedback from the Ladyfish that jump and try shaking the hook like a largemouth bass. I'm not sure how well it will hold up being used twice a week in saltwater conditions, but I rinse and lube my gear, and I'm pretty sure this reel is gonna stick around a while.
