Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome .22 Cal. This is an awesome gun with plenty of power. I upgraded the scope to a 9-16×40 center point. I highly recommend this air rifle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Was skeptical I bought this for my son for christmas to teach him how to shoot. I've used bb guns and pellet guns before and was never impressed with the power or accuracy, until i bought this guy! My son is only 9 so he will still be growing into this gun, but with a shooting stick he can easily manage it. Its still too hard for him to break the barrel, but that will come soon i'm sure. After i zeroed the scope, he's shooting 1 inch groupings at 30 yrds and that was on day 1, never shot a gun before. Quite pleased with the accuracy, and i haven't even broken it in yet. Its put a mojor dent in the squirrel problem i had too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great air gun I bought this thinking I would just trash the scope, based upon other reviews. If you perform the break in period as suggested by the manufacturer, this gun and scope perform flawlessly. I couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets all expectations Gun arrived on time in good condition. I have fired about 100 rounds and it is very accurate. The scope was easy to zero in. It takes a lot of strength to cock the barrel, not a child's rifle. It's a great rifle for hunting small animals, birds and rodents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth while best bang for your buck! Purchased this gun after I had recently taken back a Beeman X2 silver Kodiak. Which I was not super impressed with... however the Shockwave is another story. It is easy to shoot, much lighter, and over all much better rifle than the Beeman x2. Pros: nitro piston, super powerful and a blast to shoot. Cons: 2 stage trigger is a bit weird to get used to... long pull, and stock scope I'd say is "ok". It functions well but ill be getting a better 3x9x40 in the near future. This is basically a great starter rifle for a semi experienced shooter to have fun and get some trigger time. Perfect for a young adult or older. Looking forward for better rifles in the future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still love it Have had this rifle for several months, still love it. Hits hard, accurate....just plain fun to shoot. I replaced the scope with a AO winchester I had from Academy made for air rifles.......take time to accurately sight in and you have a winner. I think too many people try to take longer shots than an air rifle is made for. Zero in at 20 and it will be good up to about 35 yds. Great gun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rifle Wanted a .22 pellet rifle so I finally got this one. I love it! Sighted in without the scope in no time at 30 yards. Then I had a 4x32AO scope I purchased at Academy for $29 and had it sighted in within a short time. This is a hard hitting pellet and requires a bit of strength to cock. Not for children. Trigger has a long trigger pull, didnt stop me from getting 5 pigeons from about 25-35 yards. Academy price matched this from an online vendor so I got it for $99. Am thrilled with this and looking to buy my next gun! I dont think you will be sorry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First shot, first kill !!! I purchased the Crosman Shockwave today. Brought it home, and read the directions which were very plain and easy. Within minutes of arrival home, I spotted one of the rats by the back fence eating the bird seed. I promptly loaded a Benjamin hollow point pellet, used the rifle sights, and dropped the rodent at about thirty feet. I aimed at the head, and the pellet entered the top of the neck, and exited near the rump. Very first shot with no adjustments. Quite impressive Crosman. The rifle sights were hard to line up because either the sights sit too low, or the comb is too high. I had to place my cheek weld near the butt of the rifle to make the shot. I mounted the scope, and my first shot was two inches high, and two inches left. A few adjustments, and the second shot was a direct hit on a spinning chicken target. I will have to check back in a few months to see how the rifle progresses through the break in period.

how many pellets does it hold?

Asked by: tex hallizster
Hello tex hallizster, The Crosman Shockwave will only hold one pellet at a time. It is a breech loading rifle, and will need a pellet to be inserted into the breach each and every time the gun is cocked.

what is the nitro piston ?

Asked by: pawpa
Hello pawpa, A recent innovation introduced by Crosman is the Nitro Piston® power plant in which cocking the rifle moves a piston to the rear, but instead of compressing a spring, a gas (nitrogen) in a cylinder is compressed. When the rifle is fired, the compressed gas propels a piston forward to compress air in the receiver behind the projectile.
