Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hawk I bought this hawk for an all around tool. Fit and finish is good just need to get a sheath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superbly tough axe head Bought it for myself for Christmas after seeing it at a local outdoors store. They had it marked up an extra $20 which I wasn't willing to shell out, but after feeling the heft of this bad boy I knew I needed one in my life. After receiving it I could only look at it for a few weeks, but finally a few days ago I took it out with some buddies and threw it along with a couple of other weapons. I am no expert with judging rotation and distance so I was only able to stick it once, but I'll be darned if it didn't hold up really well. After probably more than 50 throws at an oak tree, many of which hit handle first or at odd angles, and the whole axe made it out relatively unscathed. There was was slight half inch gouge in the handle that I sanded down and the head had come down just a bit from its original seat. A few hard taps on concrete and it was back to where it should be. We beat the heck out of it and after cleaning the dirt of, fixing the handle burr, and running my honing stone over the blade a few times with some oil it was good as new. I wish I had two! CRKT is quickly becoming a favorite company of mine as everything I've bought from them has been quality including one of their Cruiser folders. If anyone knows where you can buy extra handles I'd love a link. It wouldn't be that hard to make your own though, which is something I also really like about this axe. Would definitely recommend. Both of my buddies now want one after handling and throwing it. For $50 it's a pretty good deal in my opinion. Like I said, I'd really like two so hopefully soon I'll have the expendable cash again to shell out! If you want a good all around axe just get it. Seriously. Sitting by my bed right now and it almost makes me feel more secure than the Glock sitting next to it! Almost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from VERY DURABLE HAWK THIS IS A HIGH END HAWK. I LOVE THE FACT THAT THE HANDLE IS SOLID WOOD AND THAT THE WOOD IS CUT WITH A LENGTH WISE GRAIN FOR DURABILITY. THE ONLY FLAW WITH THIS HAWK IS THAT IT COULD HAVE USED SOME TEXTURING CARVED INTO THE HANDLE TO IMPROVE THE GRIP.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Hawk It came well packed from academy. The fit and finish left much to be desired, but a little sand paper and elbow grease can fix that. The head material is made of good steel, but the blade was dull to the touch. Found out from CRKT that the head is coated in a clear coat, and that makes it easy to remove for those who like to mod their hawks. Overall I am satisfied with the Woods Chogan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like that its not plastic or molded form. Like that its not molded plastic. Wooden handle and can be replaced while out in the woods. Good weight, and more realistic to use out in the woods. Multi-tool, very happy with my purchase!
