can this charger be used to assure constant cranking power of a 12v battery.

Asked by: doofy
Hello doofy, While charging your rechargeable 12V battery with the Competition Solar 20W Amorphous Solar Panel 12V Battery Charger, the battery can still be used. For example: If you were to hook this up to your RV battery - you would still be able to use fan or heater or other item that may be hooked up to the battery that is charging. Please be sure to read and adhere to all precautions in the product manual while using the solar panel as there may be limitations on certain things that can be used (or may not be used) while the battery is being charged.

If I'm charging a 12v 7.2Ah battery, used to run a lowrance fishfinder/GPS on a kayak, do I need a controller unit ?

Asked by: Dave Wilson
Hello, Dave Wilson. We would recommend contacting Lowrance to determine what might be needed when charging the mentioned battery. This would eliminate any possible issues between the fishfinder and charging. You can reach Lowrance by visiting www.lowrance.com or by calling 1-800-628-4487.

I have purchased the Competition Solar 20W Amorphous Solar Panel 12V Battery Charger. I was wondering if you have any recommendations on which battery I might purchase to run multiple marine applications. That might optimize the overall performance.

I have two 12v deep cycle batteries putting out 24v for a trolling motor. What would you recommend to charge these batteries? I also use one battery to run stereo, etc. when we are out wasting time on the water. Any thoughts?????????

Asked by: trich27
Hi Trich27, The best option to charge your two batteries is to add a solar panel. You can purchase one 12V solar battery charger for each battery, such as the Nature Power 15W Semiflex Monocrystalline Solar Panel (103589364); the Nature Power 3W Semiflex Monocrystalline Solar Panel Battery Trickle Charger (103589348); or the Competition Solar 20W Amorphous Solar Panel 12V Battery Charger (103589381). The Nature Power chargers are designed to continuously charge your battery, can be molded to a curved surface, and are water proof and corrosion resistant. Please contact our Customer Service Center at (888) 922-2336 with any further questions concerning product pricing and availability, as inventory is subject to change. We are available by phone seven days a week from 7:00 AM - 12:00 AM (midnight) CST with chat services available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week on Academy.com.
