Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot I bought a pair of these boots three years ago, just bought another pair today. Most comfortable and lightweight boot I have ever owned, every pair of boots I have owned had a two week break in period, not these boot, right out of the box they were as comfortable as they still are today. Needed another pair cause I wore them out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great at first, but soft sole made them disposabl I bought these boots as as Goodyear Welted budget alternative to Red Wings. They were great at first, quality construction, supple leather. Unfortunately, after a few months, the sole started wearing down very quickly. Now, at 1.5 years since date of purchase, the sole is VERY worn down. Overall, for the price you would pay to get these resoled, you'd be better off looking for a pair of used red wings or chipps with a different sole. Overall, pretty bummed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 Weeks - So Far, So Good. I bought these boots two weeks ago because I got boot fever and I wanted a quality, American, hand made pair of boots. Mostly wanted these because they looked great for everyday wear. Out of the box, the stitching was perfect. Nothing frayed. The color looks a tad bit lighter than the picture but it looks good. The fit was very comfortable. I wore it around the last two weeks and they seem to breaking in very well. I've received a ton of compliments on the color and style. I did make the mistake of wearing them outside in the rain without any weather protection and it did cause some discoloration. I did some research and decided to go with Obenhauf's Heavy Duty LP. This darkened them and it is no longer "chocolate" but it still looks good. Summary: Looks good and feels good. Be careful about water until you put some protection on them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots Just received these and they are wonderful. I bought a half-size smaller than my shoe size and it was perfect. They fit and feel perfect, and their high quality is obvious. It's also gratifying that they are American-made. These are my second pair of Chippewas, and I am a happy customer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable but Poor Quality I've had these boots for just under two years now. Right out of the box, the color depicted here is not what you get. They're an unconditioned, light tan. It wasn't until I treated them with Hubbard's that the true color really came out. Everything you may have read about the soft soles is absolutely true. Within six months the soles had already begun to wear down. Now, approximately 3/4 of the heal is worn and the bottoms are nearly smooth. The stitching is also substantially subpar. In numerous locations the stitching has already started to become unraveled. The soft toe is an understatement. The left shoe's toe is already worn out and appears to be degraded to such a point that I'm probably going to have to replace these boots by the end of the year. There are numerous other problems with the boots ranging from leather that is not suited for everyday wear to the insoles and other internal components of the shoe already being degraded beyond expectations. In short, these boots are disappointing and do not hold up to the quality that we have come to expected from Chippewa.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No Traction I just got these for Christmas to replace my steel toe timberland pro series. I do like them. Very comfortable. and they look nice. Only complaint is they have no traction like they claim to. Was walking in the snow and was sliding everywhere. Also my feet were cold. Think I'm gonna stick with my tims for the winter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not exactly what I thought I had to give these boots to a friend after wearing them for a week. They are not good outdoor work boots, especially not in the snow. I was mistaken. When I ordered, I reduced the size by 1.5 to match my female foot size, but they were still too large by a full size. I wish there was a more comprehensive women's sizing chart and more options for good looking, rugged boots for women!
