Amazing productI've been using vanish for awhile now it's the best! Abrasion resistant, easy for knot tying, and the fish can't see it!

Something has changedI have used a lot of vanish in the last few years but this year I noticed when spooling it on my reels I kept getting this waxy fiber build up between my fingertips as I let the line go between my fingers to put some tension on it. Not sure what it is Berkley but I'm guessing it's some kind of plasticizer to make the line more flexible or its tiny strands of melt fracture from the extrusion process used in making the line. Needs to go away by next year or I WILL be buying some seaguar to try out.

Cost effectiveVanish is the most cost effective way to build long fluorocarbon leaders. Here in the Keys we use LONG leaders for mutton snapper when fishing in deep water. I like 24 foot 60 lb. leaders and I know of others who tie longer than that. Without the bulk spools of Vanish my leader costs would be several times that. for lighter tackle fishing on the reef I spool entirely with 30 lb vanish and use knocker rigs to avoid having to tie separate leaders.

This is the worst fishing lineThis is the worst fishing line that I have used. It is so stiff in 12 lb test. It has memory like an elephant

Not Real HappyI have used this product for two weeks. It has way to much spool memory for may taste. I am tired of the bird nests in my reels. The line casts great but you spend a lot of time removing bird nests

Great line at a great priceYou can find flourocarbon line that just about needs to be purchased on the installment plan. Is it better than vanish? Not from what I have seen. Berkley Vanish is true flourocarbon line at a price that we can all afford. I have been using it extensively for the past two years. I piece varying thicknesses together for fly fishing leaders as well use it as my go to line for both spinning and casting reels.
Overall, the line performs extraordinarily well in all applications. Sensitivity is superb and castability is equally awesome. There are a ton of discussions out on the web debating the best overall knot to use on flourocarbon line. I have found that the ultra simple Davy knot works just fine. I have yet to lose a fish using this knot.

What is the difference between this line and the tournamant grade line. It looks the same but the price difference is huge

The Berkley® Vanish® 14 lb. - 250 yards Fluorocarbon Fishing Line refracts light similar to water and is nonabsorbent and abrasion resistant for strength and durability. I was unable to locate any Tournament line products, however; the Berkley® Trilene® Professional Grade 100% Fluorocarbon Fishing Line provides incredible shock strength, abrasion resistance and knot strength. This line is fast- sinking with greater line density for high sensitivity and less "bow" in the water.
