DO NOT BUY ALLEN PRODUCTS!!! WILL CAUSE DAMAGE!!!I purchased an Allen Bike Rack, that carries up to 3 bikes, that is meant for the trunk of a car. I now have $600+ in damage to the body of my car. It worked for over a year, when it was being used for just one bike, with no problem, but as soon as I used two bikes on the rack, I immediately got impression marks from the bumpers that stayed right under neath my license plate. Apparently, even though I was following the directions for the rack, the weight distribution caused by the rack wasn't meant for more than one bike. Then, just a few weeks ago ( I continued using it because at that point the impression marks were made, I figured it couldn't get worse, which was a MISTAKE), when I put 3 bikes on the rack for the very first time, and hit a bump at 40 mph - THE ENTIRE RACK lifted up and scooted across the trunk of my car, leaving further paint and ding damage to my trunk. The body shop says it will cost upwards of $600 to fix all the damage. I contacted Allen about this, and I got NO response to my customer service email. Not even a "sorry for your problem". Just nothing. Don't waste your money on this brand, unless you are looking to be sorry.
