Academy Sports + Outdoors Names Thomas Lamb Chief Marketing Officer
KATY, TEXAS (May 3, 2016) – Academy, Ltd. d/b/a Academy Sports + Outdoors (“Academy”), a premier sports, outdoor and lifestyle retailer, named Thomas “Tom” Lamb Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, effective May 23, 2016.
Tom, 50, joins Academy after 17 years with Lowe’s Companies, Inc. where he most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer. At Lowe’s he led the marketing, advertising, brand management, private brand development, customer relationship management, and digital communication activities for the $59 billion retailer. During his time there he also held roles including Vice President, Marketing as well as Director, Consumer Marketing. Prior to Lowe’s, he served in various leadership roles at ING Financial, Thomson Reuters and BBDO. Tom earned both a bachelor's degree in Economics and also a master's in Marketing from the Univ. of Minnesota.
