    New tennis shoes
I love these tennis shoes. They are light weight and fit great.

    Hi-Tec Women's Cortina Hiking Shoes
This is a pretty decent shoe. Not the best in the world, though. I put my shoes through a good thirty minute(sometimes longer) hike a day over some pretty rough and rocky land. It only took a week and a half for the bottom to start wearing away where I mainly stand, and the insoles that come with aren't the best in the world, add extra padding.

Merrell quality is slipping -- but good enough
Bought this in a 7.5 for my 13-year old daughter's school camping trip. Runs true to size. Daughter reported the shoe was comfortable from the start and felt supportive during her hiking excursions. Nothing to complain about, but upon closer examination it is not their best manufactured hiking boot (for the price). The materials feel a bit cheap and the insole is thin and flimsy. Compared to the Merrell's I bought my eldest daughter for the same camping trip years before (size 7, alas), the ... read more quality has definitely gone down.

    A Fairly Good Shoe
I love my Merrill tennis shoes and they fit perfectly but the hiking boot was a touch too narrow and short. They are wearable but not as comfortable as the tennis shoes. The boot also allows my foot to roll easily on unlevel ground. I am not dissatisfied enough to return them but would not purchase them again. Academy's service on the other hand was excellent!

    A 2000 mile thru hike
I used these boots in New Zealand while thru hiking the Te Araroa. I loved the support around the ankle. I tend to turn my ankles while hiking and rely on higher boots with ankle support. These are one of the best around for that. There were a lot of river crossings and at times I could walk through some shallow ones and with the waterproof construction I stayed dry. The lace up system was smooth and they always stayed tied. Great product!!

Love the weight, colors, quality and speed
Haven't worn them extensively yet, but love the boots; they are exactly what I need for a month-long trip down Route 66 with a stop at the Grand Canyon. They are cute, practical, lightweight and strong. Also I just had bunion surgery on both feet last year, and they provide adequate support for my arches, especially with my orthotics, which fit beautifully inside. And the price was better than Amazon and Zappos.

    Didn't last
I have had these for 7 months and they are falling apart. There is almost no cushioning left around the heels, the soles are worn through in two places (although I wear them on concrete, so this may not be typical), the rubber toe cap has separated from the shoe, and they did not remain waterproof very long. I cannot wear the left one comfortably without putting a piece of foam inside to cushion my ankle. I work in a garden center and wear them 3-4 days a week. They are, however, very ... read more comfortable overall and I like the look. They simply didn't hold up.

    Best bargain boots
These boots are very comfortable, have great traction and keep the feet dry. I waded in waist-high wet weeds for several acres. All of me was soaked except for the feet thanks to these boots. You can't come close to beating this quality in this price range with any other boots.

    Going to order multiples!
I bought a pair of these boots while visiting Texas two years ago. I work with livestock and these shoes have held up incredibly well under less than stellar conditions. I decided that I needed a "good" pair so I just ordered them and they fit perfectly. I have decided that I probably need one or two backup pairs - I am this pleased with the fit, durability, and price.

I wanted sturdy boots with nice support and good traction, but didn't want to spend a ton on them since I'm fairly new to hiking. They are perfect so far and breaking them in wasn't bad at all. They are a tiny bit roomy but it's nothing a thick pair of socks won't cure. Haven't tried them in water yet. Extremely pleased with the quality and price!

Shoes. These shoes are used for more than hiking. I use them for everyday, all day. Awesome shoes.

    Great All Around Shoe
I bought this shoe specifically to wear on an upcoming trip to Alaska. I have been wearing them around the house and out shopping to break them in and have loved them. I didn't expect that! I wear orthotics and was worried about being able to insert them into the shoe. I was very happy that they fit beautifully and that even with them in the shoe, there is plenty of toe room - something that I really need. The toe bed is roomy enough for my bunions and being able to lace them up allows me to get ... read more them tight enough for my very slim ankles. I look forward to enjoying the warmth and no slip soles in Alaska.

    Excellent Boot
Great boot. I bought these Columbia Hiking boots because I needed a good boot for hiking and walking and had broken my foot almost a year ago and was still having a quite a bit of problems with it. I needed more stability for my foot and my ankle. This boot has worked great. I recently hiked the Balds on Roan Mountain which is a part of the Appalachian Trail and they worked great.

    Very comfy
I bought these for an upcoming trip and haven't had a chance to test them out, but they are very comfortable, fit well, and much lighter than my last pair of hiking boots which is a big plus.

    Great fit in the arch
The arches are a great fit. The shoes hug my foot with no slipping and sliding. A little heavy, but we'll see when I get them on the trail.
