Best bang for buck rifle scope out there. I am a novice shooter that has developed my shooting skills on my own over time. I can say with confidence new shooters will have no problem with this model. The ease of use, extreme cold weather durability, and the no questions guarantee sold me right away. The DEAD HOLD BDC gives me several options for a shot at any range. If i had to rate this model for new shooters it would rate pretty high. Oh ya and I hunt in Canada so....... no time for excuses up here.
I picked up my Crossfire II 4-12X44 scope from a guy selling his guns and scopes. Needed something to put on my Ruger RPR .308 until I could decide on a "good" scope. Faye decided for me that day! This scope made me love my RPR even more than I did before. I consistently shoot sub MOA out to 500 yards. The glass is so clear and adjustments so easy, I've been able to up my distance shooting as well. I'm getting 1 MOA (or very close) out to over 750 yards now consistently. I recommend this scope ... to everyone and usually convert someone everytime I'm at the range. Best money I ever spent on a scope.
Around two weeks ago, I purchased the Mossberg Patriot synthetic in 30-06, as a combo with the Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 (For $439!) I couldn't be happier with the rifle, but the optic is what really shines. This optic is very clear, and has a great field of view. The Dead hold BDC is enough to provide hold overs for longer ranges, but not so much that it will get in the way for hunting. I will surely be purchasing more vortex products in the future!
I bought this scope to use on a deer gun with a slug barrel and could not be more happy! My favorite feature about this scope is the v-brite reticle. The fact that there are multiple different settings of brightness makes it extremely versatile in many different light settings. Also, I like the fact that if the battery does die, there is still a black reticle, so you are still able to make a confident shot. The clarity of the glass for the price point is second to none, and I am very happy with ... the purchase. I am completely satisfied with the Vortex brand, and will continue to be in the future! Thanks for the great quality products at affordable prices, with a bulletproof warranty!
I have the HSLR mounted on a Sako Long range rifle, both are new. I was able to shoot a 1" group at 200 yards from the beginning. I plan to continue working out to 1000 yards.
I've been into long distance shooting for several years now and I rely on dependable, clear, rugged and repeatable products. Vortex optics is all this and more. Using the Vortex Viper HS LR 4x16x50 with the Dead Hold BDC reticle I made the longest shot of my life and possibly the longest shot ever witnessed on a whitetail doe with my custom muzzle loader at an amazing 826 yards! The tracking of this scope is spot on and the clarity is awesome! Vortex optics is the best I've ever used!
I have this scope mounted on a Remington 700 300 win mag. This rifle is used for whitetail deer, mule deer and hog hunting. The scope is very clear and has great eye relief while still being simple enough for an average hunter to use in the field and on the range. The quality in the vortex product lines is never questioned and their customer service is second to none. This was my first vortex optic and since I have upgraded all my rifle scopes to Vortex along with my binoculars. I have also been ... able to convert two of my hunting buddies to Vortex and they are pleased with their optics as well.
Have always used and realy liked Leupold scopes, bought this to put on my 7mm STW and couldn't be more impressed with the clarity and appearance of this scope. Used it during deer season and early coyote season then put the rifle up and got my 223 out with a Leupold on it to finish the season, couldn't believe the difference in clarity and quality between the 2, vortex is by far a better scope in my opinion and I will definitely continue to purchase Vortex optics.
P 233 came well packaged with good instructions. First attempt in alignment scope was almost bang on feel of quaility and practical use. Half the weight of my old scope despite its bigger size. I picked this scope as it was highly prasied online.
Slipped on ice on a coyote hunt and fell face first on rifle. Scope held true. Not proud of this story but you hunters can relate. After all this is what we want for our hard earned dollar
this is a quality scope. there is no movement in the p o i when the zoom is used up and down. the elevation turret is positive, nice clicks and accurate all through the range for a 22lr. The paralex works great. I really need to see this scope at work with a 223 or larger caliber rifle. It's a smooth system, It's a SWEET 22 scope.
The BSA sweet 22 is the best scope you can find anywhere for the Ruger 10/22. I have set up several of the 22 rifles with this scope and you will never find a better scope for this rifle this is quality beyond anything you can find at any price
Put this scope on my converted 10/22. As clear as my Nikon scopes.
I bought this scope for my Henry Big Boy steel. I wanted an inexpensive straight 4X scope for 100 yards or less shots. The scope is clear, looks good on my rifle and took about 6 shots to site-in. I think it will be a good complement to any brush gun...
I bought this scope specifically for deer hunting. It is the best I have owned so far! Great visibility in low light.
This is my third Nikon scope. 1 Buckmaster and 2 prostaff. Great scopes would recommend to buy. Bought at the Topeka, Ks store had it mounted and bore sighted. The guy that did it said it would be on an 8"paper plate at a 100 yards. I got it home took it out to my range fired 3 rounds looked at target fired 5 more rounds. I wasn't hitting the target not even on paper. 24 inches low at 100 yards. Like the scope, mounting was good, bore sighting I will do my own.
I purchased this two days ago and mounted on my Marlin Model 336 30-30 and could not be happier. I used the one piece Leupold scope base for the Marlin 336 and Leupold high rings and they all worked together perfectly. Turrets on the scope are covered so there is no worry of accidentally bumping them. I was a bit worried because of its price but I was really pleased with the outcome. It did take me a few tries but I got it sighted in @ 75 yards.
I bought this scope about a year ago from Academy to mount on my brothers 22 caliber rifle. It is an excellent scope for that purpose with very good optics. It is easy to site in and is a very good buy for the money!
I have had this scope for about a year and have killed several deer using it. The features are great but clarity beyond 9x has been an issue no matter the terrain or weather conditions. I have always loved Nikon and plan on contacting the manufacturer to see if they can remedy or shed some light on the issue.
i bought this scope i love it i can see everything so clear and clear for long distance. gonna buy another one tomorrow for other rifle
I hunt in a area with lots of cover, need tone on target fast, this scope provides that! Really enjoy extended eye relief, great with coat on
I bought my scope a month ago, I've shot with it 3 times, the optics are amazing, crystal clear. Great features on scope. Red and green illuminated reticle are great for night hunts. Nikon is the way to go.
The sale price was great for this scope very clear even in low light
I purchase three of these scopes for fast brush hunting in the Wisconsin swamps. Once you learn to use them they are very fast to use. Optics great. I, used one on .338 Mag Sako to goo sheep hunting and took a 40 inch plus Dall Sheep in Alaska. Other scopes did fog up, my Tasco did not, we laughed! They had $300-450 scopes and mine cost under $50.00. After I shot my ram they mounted my scope on their rifles. All took a ram and this Tasco saved the day. I gave it our outfitter after then. Go figure.
This is not intended for high caliber rifles but for a .22 it is a fantastic scope! You cannot find a better scope for such a low price. And if you break it, buy another one... The quality of this scope is amazing for $30 and no BSA comes close to this kind of quality! If you want a scope that you don't want to replace you need to spend the money on a Leupold, Zeiss or even Nikon and Vortex. If you want budget glass for accurate shooting this Simmons fits the bill just fine!
Purchased today. After buying 2 sets of rings from elsewhere that didn't fit, the Academy rep found the right set, mounted that and the scope and even bore sighted it for me. It seems good to go. For $30, a great scope. And for the poor reviews, please don't expect this to hold up on a 223... It's for a 22, period.
The Droptine is excellent glass for the price. I also have a fullfield 2. Burris is definitely the way to go
The 4.5-14X42 Droptine replaced an older 6X Burris Widefield I had on a sporter weight Ruger M77 MKII 22-250. The extra magnification really helps my 69-year-old eyes. When zeroing the rifle/scope the adjustments worked perfectly. The scope is typically Burris bright, which is an advantage at the indoor 100m range I was using. I quit shooting when I had a 1/2" three shot group off the sandbags at 100 yards. I could see myself pull the last shot to the left so it didn't join the first two in ... their common bullet hole.
Purchased for my 50 Cal muzzle loader excellent scope like the diamond cross hair holds well killed small buck at 70 yards fist time out
Great buy, would use on any gun. Bought online and seamless process to order.
very pleased with this purchase and my shooting buddies also thought it matched the rifle nicely and would also be buying one.
I bought this scope and mounted it on an AR 556. Sighted in great. No problems.
