I have found nikon to have the most clear optics out of all the scopes i have found. The clarity is also there in the dusk and dawn lighting situations. I am very impressed with the BDC sites. It takes guessing out of the equation. I have shot several white tails at 200 and 300 yards with this scope and not thought twice. I have purchased 5 nikon scopes, and binoculars in the past couple of years and am happy with all of them.
I bought this scope to put on my Remington 770 .308. Bottom line is this is a fantastic scope especially for being under 200 dollars. Very clear, plenty of eye relief, and an amazing value. The bdc reticle is very nice as well. If you're thinking about buying a Nikon prostaff, do it!
Sight went on easy with the mounts that came in the range ready kit. Had no problem zeroing it at 100 yards. Haven't stretched it to the limit yet but spot on at 100/200 yards. looking forward to using it more and more. Its a great sight for the money. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Crisp, clean and accurate. Things you expect and get from Nikon. This particular scope is also durable and specific to the rounds utilized in AR platforms. The P-223 Range Ready Kit allows the end user to mount and utilize the product in minutes, and because Nikon includes the necessary tools to mount to your AR, you can modify your AR in the field and on the go. Nikon also provides in this kit the Spot On Ballistic Wind Meter, and in combination with the iPhone downloadable application, it will ... allow you to further understand your ballistics and have real time information provided to you in the field. I loved the scope from the first pull of the trigger. A perfect complement to your rifle!
Purchased this scope last year and have been beyond pleased with this product. After years of an old scope, I updated to this one. Amazing glass, clear and lets lots of light in for those shots just after and before legal shooting. Have no regrets updating to this scope. Awesome feature of the BDC reticle, takes the guess work out of where to hold on those longer shots, which is important with muzzleloaders. Great to use with the Nikon SpotOn app as well to assist accuracy. For this price point, ... you won't be disappointed!
This is on my CVA Accura V2 and it couldn't be a better match. Zeroed in 3 shots at 100 yards and hasn't budged from that point since I got it. Turrets and zoom are very easy to adjust, glass is crystal clear in any weather (hunted in low 50s down to single digits, dry, rain, and snow this past season. Some crazy weekends!). Not to mention the SpotOn technology. It's outstanding and so very accurate. I'd recommend this scope to ANYBODY without a second thought. Absolutely no downfalls to this scope!
I've had the scope on a 22 and now on a 308. I've hunted squirrels (day) and rabbits (night) when it was on the 22 with great results. I've only shot a coyote since its been on the 308 but had no issues seeing it at 100 yards with no moon using the included IR illuminator. Video is awesome to show friends later. I would recommend to anyone wanting to do some night hunting.
Mine is all set up and ready to go. The menu's are easy to navigate, and the Obsidian phone app makes it easier to set up so you don't have to look through the viewer to see the menus. The firmware updates are easy, but I urge you, do it with fresh batteries installed, and follow the instructions precisely so the CPU doesn't get corrupted. Optics are crystal clear.
I bought this scope a couple of months ago mounted on a Remington 700 30 06.academy bore it sighted at 50 yards.first shot was two inches to the right in about 2 inches down at 50 yards on paper.took target out to 100 yards.had it zeroed within 4 shots.this is a great scope the clarity is unmatched by anything in its price range.gathers great light on them early morning and late evening hunts.took my first deer on opening day with this scope.do yourself a favor if you're considering the scope ... get it. you will not regret it
I bought this scope this past hunting season and placed in on a .308. Let's just say, I have now placed a second on my 7mm-08. I have been extremely pleased. The clarity of Nikon products has always been above and beyond. This product seems very durable as well because I definitely do not baby my rifle and scope!
this is a quality scope. there is no movement in the p o i when the zoom is used up and down. the elevation turret is positive, nice clicks and accurate all through the range for a 22lr. The paralex works great. I really need to see this scope at work with a 223 or larger caliber rifle. It's a smooth system, It's a SWEET 22 scope.
The BSA sweet 22 is the best scope you can find anywhere for the Ruger 10/22. I have set up several of the 22 rifles with this scope and you will never find a better scope for this rifle this is quality beyond anything you can find at any price
The scope loses some sharpness at the upper end of the scale 10-12 power, but it is set up for the AR-10 platform in the .308 caliber (7.62 X 51) with range and drop information so it is better than many other scopes for that purpose. Since I have two of these AR-10s I now own two of these scopes and well worth the cost.
Bought this scope online and couldn't be happier with it. The glass is bright and clear, the turrets are easy to use even with gloves, and the BDC is great!
This is my second Nikon Monarch rifle scope. The first I installed on my 22-250 and found it to be one very good scope that has performed very well while hunting coyotes and on the range. I purchased the second scope for my AR-15 in 308 and I intend to use it for long range shooting out to 1000 yards. Very well made and performs well in all kinds of weather conditions here in Wyoming.
i am really impressed with my nikon great lens quality clarity is crystal clear being able to go to 3power in the woods that step into field and have 12 power is perfect .I can also set down on shooting bench and shoot half inch groups.thank you nikon.
This is not listed as a rimfire. Returned to local Academy with no problems. Only difference in centerfire scope vs this one is the parallax at 50 instead of 100 yards.
Nice scope for the the money and for a rimfire rifle. Not as expensive as some brands, but good clarity in the glass. Good accuracy.
Seems to work fine on my 10/22 out to the 50 yard limit of our range. Bright and clear, good eye relief. The rings it comes with are garbage, spent another $8.00 on weaver rings and not it sits firmly on the stock Ruger base
I've been buying Simmons scopes for 30+ years and never been disappointed. They help keep wild game on the dinner table
Bought this scope on-line through Academy after returning another scope purchased from there. 100% satisfied with purchase and service
Everything about this scope is top notch. I have paid two or three times as much for scopes in the past to have this much clarity and functions. The warranty is best in class as well. Glad to run across this and was just by accident. I have now replaced all 42 scopes with the Monarch scopes.
I had concerns about this scope because there was only one review when I was looking to buy it.... I was trying to decide between this scope and the Burris Eliminator scopes. After using this scope and looking at the Eliminator in person it was a no brainer! I figured this scope would be good since I had a monarch on one of my other guns but good is an understatement... I wish Nikon would come out with a whole line of this scope for different hunting applications. If Nikon had a 4-16x or 6-24x ... with a 1000-1200 yd rangefinder I would be replacing scopes on all my hunting rifles... It was very easy to range and use the bdc reticle. I was shooting a 55gr. bullet so my gun shoots slightly flatter than the bdc reticle but it was an easy acquisition. After sighting in I found it very easy and fast to range the target and immediately make a shot. I was able to easily shoot targets accurately at 330yds and 550yds. I can't wait to use this scope more. I bought this for coyote hunting and I think its going to be the ticket for getting on the coyotes and making good shots quickly and quick follow up shots even with a coyote on the move with the 12 second auto ranging feature. I was also very happy to find out that the scope had horizontal distance compensation in the rangefinder for accurate yardage to make uphill and downhill shots. I don't see many coyotes getting away with this setup!!
Sharpshooter Scope came with Savage 308 rifle purchase January 2017. June 1, 2017 elevation and windage would not adjust and was moving 6 MOA up and 3 MOA left with power adjustment. Sent in with downloaded repair form 6/7/2017 USPS reported delivered 6/9/2017. Card with 'on line' repair tracking number sent 6/14/2017 6/20/2017 on line reported parts ordered. 6/28/2017 new Bushnell Banner Riflescope received. I am very happy.
I bought this about a year ago for my Savage Axis 30-06 and achieved sub MOA at 100 yds. Have put well over 100 rounds through the rifle and still holds zero. Pretty good bang for your buck.
Had a lot of fun right out of the box at the range. It only took maybe ten rounds to sight in, if that at 50 yards. I'm sold on Nikon scopes, I have replaced all scopes with Nikon scopes on my rifles. Great price for good quality scopes. Love the BDC lots of fun at long ranges.
I bought this scope a couple of months ago for a Henry rimfire rifle works well
I bought this to use on the sport arise 1891Argentine Mauser to use it as pig hunting rifle.got to pigs no problem sighting in and scope @100 yds
Haven't shot it yet. Going to sight it in tomorrow. And dial in the TAG Rectical
The Glass clarity, precision of movement, able to handle shock and vibration, usable in low light situations and ease of use. That is what it is all about. You are able to bring the scope to your eye and capture the object in focus without strain. Be assured that the cross hair is right where it suppose to be giving you the confidence of your shot. I've compared the Nikon to others, including Leupold, and Nikon provides the best optic for your money. A great buy!
Comon! The lens covers have absolutely nothing to do with the excellent optics of this scope. Gathers light better than a top line Leupold. All Monarchs are at the top of my list!
I had a really hard time buying this online from Academy, someone in customer service thought it was a fraudulent sale, and never contacted me.I lost valuable time and finally after two weeks I got this scope and mounted it ,bore sighted and after six rounds it was dialed in -I cant say enough about the quality of Vortex optics, clear is an understatement-I highly advise purchasing this scope, and the unconditional lifetime warranty provides peace of mind.
Received mine and the optics are very sharp and clear and love the reticle.put in my pse fang to replace the cheap factory one that came with it
