I ordered this to replace a smoker and gas grill that were both really giving up. I really like the all in one approach. This arrived in a really big box and although I don't recommend you do it, I put it together all by myself. It would have been much easier with an extra set of hands. So far, everything as worked great. I think that my prior grill cooked a bit hotter and faster but it had more burners and a larger cooking area. I'm looking forward to a summer of grilling and smoking!
This was the heaviest grill/smoker could find. Overall assembly was ok. Missing some washers but no big deal. Did some additional welding to strengthen and cover poor spot welds. Lids don't fit tight so plan on building gaskets for smoker. I put some gasket on the firebox split. Smoked a brisket and temps were a little challenging. Opening into cooking chamber allows to much heat on left side of brisket but put bricks in the opening to baffle the flame. Overall happy with the grill. Guy at ... academy was awsome and gave a nice discount over some product finish issues that were not that big of a deal. Looking for a custom fit cover. Char broil should make a custom like they do for their smokers
ere is no doubt that with great grill comes great responsibility, and part of that responsibility is to keep the grill clean and ready. This is another sturdy product to be hung in an outdoor grill space equipped with a hook for hanging. With firm and course bristles you bet you're gonna be able to scrape off the grime that wants to hold your Charbroil Grill tight. The sturdy handle and firm bristles allows your to rough with it and get the job done. I like it and my grill has never been ... cleaner. Good Work Charbroil! This brush is nice because it is easy to use and works well on a cool grill. I love that the bristles can be easily and quickly replaced/changed when they become worn; however, I've had one of these for over two years now and have not had to replace the bristles. Purchased 2 from the Palm Bay Store, and couldn't be happier. Heavy all welded construction, After seasoning ( 3 coatings of safflower oil), put them to work the next day. After getting to know the ins and outs of this over and over design, I couldn't live without it now. The briskets, ribs, Boston Butt, came out to perfection. Well worth the money!!!
I have used a New Braunsfels smoker for years and just burned it out. For Fathers Day my family got me an Old Country over an under. It heats up evenly, no hot spots that I found. The heat is easy to maintain. I cooked baby back ribs and beef short ribs with venison sausage and corn. The whole family loved it. The only problem I had was getting the darn stickers off before I seasoned the pit. Old Country needs to switch to a sticker that peels off completely or don't use them. I would urge ... anyone looking to get a pit to take a close look at the Over an Under pit , its Awesome
I've had this cooler about six months now. It's great for casual use (tailgating, cookout, etc) but will never be mistaken for a Yeti. So if you're looking for high end, look elsewhere. But at its price, this cooler will serve you well. The handles and hinges have held up well and the plug works fine. I'm now thinking my next cooler will have a lid that you can secure, but that's a minor nitpick. I also like that I can sit on the lid without damaging it. The color options make this one stand out ... from the regular coolers you see everywhere.
Double back flip AOK. Shipping faster than a speeding bullet. Super tight lid. Beefy handles. That's what I'm talking about.
I've had this grill for half a year now. It's good. I don't know about 16 burgers at once though LOL, maybe my burgers are just big. Either way, I use it for meals and gets the job done. I have a propane - huge- event grill that I was using, but this is better for just the family. About lighting the coal, I have no idea what the person in the other review is doing wrong. There is a trick to opening the bottom, you have to kind of lift, then pull to open it. I though it was stuck the first ... time, then I figured it out. I've cooked steaks, burgers, roasted chile, etc... The little temperature gauge helps out too.
This grill is the right size for our family of four. Cooks great. Doesn't require much charcoal. Love the cast iron grates.
Really does keep your meat moist! Not sure why they say spicy. Not hot at all! Kids love it on their chicken! I love it on everything! Best ribs ever!
I live in central Florida and they have this no where around me. We have family in Texas and they turned us on to this rub and we have been using it ever since. Which has been 5 or 6 years now! I have to order on line....so we buy a gallon or so at the time. We use it on all our pork and chicken and some fish! Very very good rub.
Needed a new one and I like that it is longer than my other one.
So I had bought the infrared portable grill and had purchased a universal 4' hose. Well I had nothing but issue with it staying lit with the slightest winds. So I called customer service and explained the issue I've been having. She researched different issues using the process of elimination. Finally we got to the point of it has to be the hose. So she said if you buy this hose and it does not work we will refund the hose and send out a replacement grill. Well it took about 7 days and I ... received the hose. I'll tell you what I have fallen in love with this infrared portable grill by Char Broil. Absolutely a great product that leaves all my grilled meats nice and juicy! Thanks char broil
I like it the optional hose but the cost was really too high
I have used other chimneys and this is by far the best I have used. It is very well built, has coals ready quickly (I use instant light charcoal), and for $15 this price is hard to beat. The second handle makes for easy dumping of the coals. Don't forget to wear gloves!
Love that our food does not tast like gas. Hate the grill. We spent a lot and will be returning it.
I have the Old Country over and under smoker, it came without temperature gauge, purchased 2 and installed both . Couldn't be happier. Because of the size, they're very easy to read, helping me to monitor the temperature of the Old Country smoker. A great asset for me.
I bought this with my Pecos smoker. I haven't had time to calibrate it yet. Just seasoned the grill two days ago.
Great product at a really good price. Purchased online and saved a 80 mile trip to town.
This is a staple in our spice cabinet. We use it on everything we grill and smoke, including turkey on Thanksgiving. Perfect!
I bought a double gourmet burner and the first time I used it I noticed that the one of the lines wasn't working properly, it was defective. So I called Academy's customer service and they shipped me a brand new one with no problems, although it cost my $7.00 for shipping it was better than having to pay full price.
Grub Rub is my seasoning of choice for the outside of my Thanksgiving turkey every year. It leaves the fried bird with a sweet and savory crust on the skin. Even better when paired with Cajun Injector marinades.
Fast shipping and a great product easy to shop on line
I bought this for a Christmas present and it is the best present and smoke we have ever had. With a large family, this smokes perfectly no matter what is inside, ribs, salmon, cheese, beans, roasts, even hot dogs and sausages. I with there was a way to add chips without burning fingers but otherwise, best smoker, yet!
I got this smoker for Christmas. Looked online at several makes and models of smokers and decided this was the most economical. I have been smoking meat on a Master Forge charcoal grill and, despite reviews complaining of smoke leaking around the lid and poor craftsmanship, I enjoyed smoking indirectly on mine (still have it and use for grilling). The only problem was there wasn't enough room when cooking for a larger crowd, so I was looking for something bigger. My youngest son and I put it ... together in a little less than an hour. This included laying out all the parts, reading over all the instructions first (not very manly, I know), and then stopping for some general father/son talk. One thing I noticed on some older reviews was how people turned the unit upside down as a part of the assembly and the doors fell off. I guess they've added Step 1A because it reads, "Remove the doors..." I used a Craftsman cordless drill with the clutch set on 10 and made fairly quick work out of assembly. After assembly, I seasoned the smoker per the intructions. Because of other reviews I had read, I went ahead and bought an oven thermometer. This particular model had a small wood chip tray. Others beng reviewed showed a round chip PAN. This is where some had placed a round skillet to hold wood chunks (one guy suggested lava rock and placing wood chunks on top). All of this was done to combat flare ups. However, with this model, the chip tray didn't flare up. Smoke lasted about 30-40 minutes and I could easily add chips (Get a pair of heat resistant gloves-- much better for doing this). Unless you remove the water pan, I'm not sure there is enough room to put a skillet in order to use wood chunks. There was some smoke leaking around the door, but it really didn't amount to much. The flow of smoke from the bottom through the top vent was extremely sufficient. I've never cooked with gas before -- grill or smoker, so I wasn't real sure what to expect. The outside temp and wind play a much bigger role in this unit than what I was accustomed to on the charcoal grill/smoker. I was able to put up a small piece of plywood to keep wind from blowing directly into bottom vent. Top temperature I got to was 275 with outside temp at 45+/-. This was fine since I only wanted 225 for smoking Boston butts. I cooked ribs a few days prior with a warmer outside temp (65 +/-) and initially ran the cooker up to 350. When assembled, I could get it up to 400 degrees with outside temp of 75. All that said, the temperature was easy to control and it held steady at 225 and 250 depending on what I needed at the time. You can't put meat in this unit, turn on the burners, and walk away. You'll need to check on it for adding wood chips, checking cooking temps, ...etc. There have been reviews upset about having to tend to this. This is not a commercial smoker. It's a metal box with a door, a window, and a propane burner at the bottom. It is not a commercial cooker. If you don't want to spend some time during the cook, you should probably just go buy your bbq and ribs from your local BBQ restaurant. The is a great smoker for the money!
Was looking for a cover for my smoker with the fire box, after contacting costumer support this cover was recommended to me so I ordered it. It's a little big but I'm glad it is cause it covers it completely, all the way to the ground. I don't understand why some people give this cover a bad review, great cover made well for a great price, can't go wrong.
Cover is perfect for the Smoker that I have it covers the whole thing and there is even room to put other small things if you don't want them to get wet.
I recently bought the bottle and I really like the design. Easy flowing mouth that doesn't require me to suck my water, a relief when I'm exhausted. The only thing I'm unsure of is if it's dishwasher safe or not. I recommend this bottle to everyone.
This should of been the standard issued type of grill that would be in all Char-Broil Bar-Be-Que grills. Instead, we had an additional costs to replace the clog prone, cheap type that was issued. Read your reviews on how others had the same problem.
great product and even better customer service achieved
I purchased this table for use with an umbrella and chairs, after getting it, putting it together, I decided to use it as a table under a covered area. The Table is a little better metal than 1st thought, better than what is sold at Home Depot! You will have to put the table together, but all the tools and parts are included in the kit. The circle in the base supports legs, my table was a little unlevel, so it would be better if the manufacturer were to use 6 legs rather than 4. They also place ... plastic plugs in the legs to keep the metal off concrete, Great! Warning, These metal products, may not hold up well around a pool with a Polaris pool sweep that has salt water. We have noticed that the pool cleaner throws water on everything around the pool, and if this table is near, it can cause the metal to rust. You can take some black enamel paint black and spray them once a year to prevent rusting, but this will occur with any metal product like this! Overall, its a good Value, best price anywhere! Don't forget to order 4 chairs to use with it, they only cost about $50 each, so a Best Buy for boat, and there is only 2 screws to putting the chair together. What's best, is no one knows that Acadamy Sports sells this type of product, thus there are usually products in stock, no one in your way, and a great product & price
I purchased two of the tables for the boathouse and liked so well I puchased two more for the back porch . It gets pretty windy at the boathouse and they do not move in high wind 30plus winds and no problem . They work real well for me glad I purchased them.
