    Great monocular
I purchased after research of gen.1 night vision options.  I am glad I made the purchase.  I had trouble at first using this unit, but after a little time learning the ins and outs I am glade I made this choice.  The vision is very clear at around 20 30 yards I can see the bark on trees and the wood grain on my fence.  At around 500 yards the vision is clear with no trouble seeing objects.  With the digital on I have used it in very low light and total darkness inside my house and it works ... read more great.  It does require focusing but after practice this is an easy task. I would recommend the construction is rugged and I feel it is built to last. One note: don't get frustrated in the beginning as with many things you are not familiar with it requires a little learning, but after that they work great.

    No depth, very grainy image
I have used a lot of night vision sets and these are garbage. the image is unclear and the output lens is stupid small. its like squinting in a dark room while shinning a flashlight at your face.

    It's OK .....not Great
Pros...It will work in daylight or dark....Uses 4 common AA batteries ....Small and light weight....Built In IR illuminator with 2 settings...Digital zoom...Color in daylight CONS...Very narrow field of view...Very Grainy view(only 96x64 res)...Must slow frame rate down to maximize night vision and then only good for about 50 yards. If you just need NV just to look around the backyard or camp sight ...It's a good little tool.....If you need to see 100+yards across a food plot.... look for something else

    good child's toy
I'm just trying to save you the time and money! This thing is exactly what you'd expect for night vision in this price range

    Save your money
Save your money for something a set that's a little better then this. That being said if you just have to have it buy a different IR light to use. The one that's on it goes about 20 yards and that's about it. I'm about to take these back tomorrow.

I bought a pair, took them to the ranch. Couldn't believe what's out there at night. We set up in a blind, about and he later. We started to see hog and coyote out around the area. Very happy with my new night vision goggles

    night vision monocular
The sales person said that it probably would not be what my husband wanted, but I just could not afford to pay $700 or above for the so called "really good" ones. My husband only wanted something to see if the feral hogs were out in our back pasture or if the coyotes were in with our calves. This particular brand has met his needs very well and he is very pleased with his gift. I can tell because he uses it every night. You can see every thing for about the length of a football field perfectly. Thanks

    This product is awesome!
I bought this product to see what is in the field and after dark when hunting! This product is great! Once you get the focus right you can see for up to one hundred yards! Best thing I ever bought for myself! Great buy!

    Best Bang for the $$
I bought this to mount it on my Leupold 4.4-14x50 and bought one of those scope mounting systems. This thing goes right on to your scope so no need to worry about extended rail. Holds it nice and tight. It also comes with Infrared illuminator which definitely makes things nicer. I bought it for coyotes up in Oregon and really like the option of being able to switch from day scope to a night vision scope with this. Ordered it on the 15th and received the unit on the 19th.

    Great Clip on system
This item is everything that I expected. It works great in low light, but extremely well under full moon. I have not needed to use the I.R that came with it yet. I can see things clearly at over 300 yards with no problem.

I bought because it was advertised as night vision and you can only see a few yards at best.

Types of Night Vision Devices

Academy Sports + Outdoors carries a wide variety of night vision devices. Night vision goggles, binoculars and other items are great tools for hunting, camping, hiking, bird watching or any after-dark activity. Hunting at night can get chilly, so be sure to check out our selection of insulated camo apparel. Many of the night vision clip-ons are designed to quickly and easily attach to the front of your firearm's daytime scope, so your hunting excursion can continue uninterrupted. A night vision monocular, binocular or goggle set generally comes ready for handheld use, but can be head-mounted, helmet-mounted, weapon-mounted or even camera-mounted for hands-free use as well.

Infrared Technology

Many night vision binoculars, monoculars and goggles in our assortment feature built-in infrared illuminators, which produce high levels of infrared light. The resulting images are of higher resolution than most other night vision technologies. Some of these devices have an automatic shutoff feature, which activates when exposed to bright light sources to help conserve your batteries.

Thermal Imaging

If you hunt after dark, then you'll want to pick up one of the night sights or night vision scopes in our selection, which utilize thermal imaging technology. Thermal imaging doesn't need a source of illumination, because this technology detects temperature differences between backgrounds and objects in the foreground, allowing you to track deer and other elusive prey, even in light fog, rain and smoke.
