This is my first game camera. I have used a different brand at a friend's ranch and this one is a breeze to program the date and time in comparison. When I first tried testing it it was very slow to trigger. I found out its very important to format the sd card while it's in the camera. That fixed that problem. All seems good now. I will update after testing in the field. So far value vs price seems good.
this is a ok camera, but the field of vision for night shots is very poor. when you use the test feature it gives you a pin point that your subject must be in to get the shot. and when you close the case you can't tell if you may have moved it a little so you can end up missing the target. so if you want great day shots it's a good buy not for nights.
I bought this camera with some scepticism, I have a stealth cam Unit camera I bought a few years ago and the pictures are good but the battery life sucked. I purchased this one on closeout and this camera is great. The quick settings are simple and fast as far as setup, pictures are good, the sensor picks up at longer distances and flash is good at longer distances. Video quality and sound is also good. But the thing that is so much better with this camera is the battery life.
I've only had these a few weeks but this seem to have it all - good battery life, good day pics and video, pretty good night pics and video, and very easy to program. We'll see how long they last but the price for the two I got is about the same as many other single units on the market
Camera takes good night and day pictures, not blurry at all. For the price it's a great camera. When setting up came it will count down from 30 sec to 0 sec and then go off, don't get mad and think it's not working right, cause when something triggers it it will take the picture.
I bought these for my grandkids for their hunting and the stealth cameras take great photos of deer. Buying from Academy was great to bought 1 day and it was delivered the next day.
I bought one year ago and takes great pictures night or day and is great for Home Security as well as would be for hunters, i like the low level flash and truely great photos it takes .Everyone shoud have one for front and rear of home ,great to have whe going on vacation or any trips ,it's not like used to be someone be in and out of house with your valueables before neighbors see or most don't want to get involved so couple of these might save you alot of your possessions and cath Thiefs ... also,I think they well worth money ,so I'm getting more for other areas.
The instructions hard to set up on all the dial positions. i got a few good pics. but most are of nothing. the delay must be too long. but can't seem to speed it up yet. its alot of trial and error. still testing it out. glad it had batterys and free shipping.
It works fine but there is no 12v external battery connector as stated. Also requires 8 AA not 6 as stated. The paste and copy was without fact checking.
Overall it's a great camera. Easy to set up. It doesn't take 10 mp pictures like I thought it did.
I have had this unit, coupled with a M888i in the woods for a little over a month. I put it in a spot with spotty cellular signal and it has performed flawlessly. I love the fact that I don't have to put my scent in the woods to view the camera. I have a good 6 year old buck somewhat patterned and, when the time/wind is right, I will be in that spot hoping for a shot. I will be purchasing at least two more within 6 months. My only complaint is the app. I sometimes don't get notifications ... even though the pictures have been uploaded to the server. I wish they would simply text directly to your phone instead of having to go to the app to see pics. The positives far outweigh the negatives in my limited experience.
I bought this to pair up with my Moultrie M888 and it's been a game changer. The ability to view pics on my iPhone via the Moultrie Mobile app and my laptop via the Moultrie Mobile website without having to drive 2 hours round trip to swap SD cards is amazing. There is no contract for the cell service, simply select the level based off your needs and pay monthly. Set up is super easy and the Moultrie Mobile app makes the entire experience of viewing pics even better. I highly recommend this ... technology, especially if one has a long commute to their land.
I bought this trail camera about three months ago. I really love the easy program and detachable battery case. I have been enjoying the many pic's that all four cameras had taken.
the first camera i bought didnt work but i returned it to academy no problem . got the second camera and it seems ok .pic quality is good daytime and fair at night.Very little blur at night. Good strong flash at night. This camera will send a pic even on 1 signal bar. The signal varies at my location from 1 to 3 bars. This cam needs to closer to subject area than other brands it does not seem to have that zoom that other cams have built in .
I have two of these that I use in my game camera. Some game camera will not work properly with Hi-Def SD cards and I have never had a problem with these.
i bought my card 2 weeks ago couldn't be happier. Great picture's and plenty of storage. I'm in the process of buying a another for my other camera
BOUGHT THESE MOUNTS A FEW WEEKS AGO AND THEY HAVE BEEN IN USE SINCE THEN. THEY ARE SIMPLE TO INSTALL AND ARE DESIGNED TO GIVE ANY CAMERA ANGLE. VERY DURABLE AND CAN BE EASILY MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION.
We have bought several packs of these. We use at our lease. They work great for us.
Getting some great pictures from this camera! Day or night, doesn't matter. They're crystal clear and the date and time stamp are a great help to figure out the schedule of the herd.
I bought it a month ago and I'm still very impressed.
I bought this camera last month & I'm already getting great pics. I bought my first Cuddeback 6 years ago and I was so pleased I upgraded to the Silver Series. The quick trigger speed & long batter life are great.
Once you get your settings dialed in you're good to go.Easy setup and takes great pictures day and night. You will never go wrong with a cuddeback!
Only reason for a 4 star is because of its narrow picture view...not a wide enough picture angle. Focuses on just a small area. Husband LOVES it otherwise!
Have two cameras performance is as good as stelth cam advertises!
Bought online, came open and used. Had pictures of previous owner on them. Still works and not worth the hassle to return just to get the same thing.
Works great , why pay more when it does the job of the higher priced cards.
I build the ICU Auto Hog Light and this is the only battery/box I use!!
I bought this as a waterproof casing for the electronics in my fishing kayak (fish finder and lights). The box itself works great to keep everything nice and dry. However the wiring on the inside wasn't working. I ended up pulling all the wiring out and routing a new cable straight to the battery, bypassing the charging connections. An added plus is that I didn't expect it come with a battery, but it did! However, the battery it came with doesn't hold a charge very long. Most 12 volt batteries ... like this will keep my stuff going for three or four trips without charging. This one is dead after one trip....
I've had the camera for a little over a month, everything works fine for me (not sure about the technical issues Quercus was talking about). I don't share my videos but I didn't have any trouble viewing them on my picture viewer, my laptop or my work computer. Day time videos are very colorful. I've only taken a few pictures but they also seemed to be very clear. I'll put it this way, I liked it enough that I bought a send one last week.
G45NG was purchased in November 2016 at Academy. Camera took some of the best day and night pics I've ever got from a trail camera. One night in late November the camera got a heavy rain on it. I thought nothing about it because it's made for outdoor use. I pulled it down to move to a new location a couple days later and noticed condensation inside the glass covering the LED emitters. The camera remained in my truck seat for a couple more days before I decided to put it on newly found deer ... trail. I placed the camera on a tree, set it to the Q3 video clip setting, it showed 86% battery life, closed the cover and left. Two days later I returned and realized the camera was dead and there were no files on the SD card. The camera would not turn on and there was still moisture inside the glass covering over the LEDs. The batteries were completely dead.....I assume from a short due to the moisture inside the camera housing. I returned the camera to Academy (with receipt) and they gladly would have exchanged but the same model camera was out of stock. They ordered me another in exchange and are mailing it to my residence. Time will tell if there is a continuing problem with rain water getting inside the camera housing. I'll split my rating down the middle with 3 stars until late I'm sure this camera is as good as the two G42NGs I have.
I bought this in August 2012 and another in 2013. The 2012 version just died in August 2016. The 2013 model is still working. 7 combined years of saving on batteries for my 2 Moultrie Panoramic Camera. It's important to note that you MUST have 7-8 hours of sunlight. Don't expect this to work in partial/limited sunlight. I had to replace the C batteries only once a year usually after the cold of winter not every 6 weeks. My solar panels ran 24/7. not just deer hunting season.
We have been using these for about 4 years now. they work great and are very durable. we have 8 of them. one on every camera. they have paid for themselves several times in the batteries we save. have had 2 stop giving a digital readout but they continued to charge and Moultrie fixed them and all we had to pay was shipping. the only downfall is that it is sometimes hard to get good sunlight in the thick areas with a lot of overhead foliage, but the long cord lets you move the panel around ... to find sunlight.
