Only had this out twice, but it is just what I wanted for my Super Spook. Casts a 1/4 oz practice lure 40 yards into the wind with 10# braid. Two piece lets me store in car and kayak. Now my fishing friend wants to borrow all the time.
I recently bought my GX2 four piece travel spinning rod. I took it out to a fresh water lake in Puerto rico on 2/25/2017, can't wait to show you the pictures of two peacock basses I caught. The rod tip bent all the way forward and held up just fine I am very happy. For the price I paid this rod performed well and exceeded my expectations. I recommend the GX2 rod to all fishermen / women.
I am a big ugly stik fan. I bought this combo the first day u could buy gx2s. The reel is super smooth and the drag is awesome. I have put this rod to the test. I have caught bluegills, tilapia, bass, perch, trout (up to a 4lb rainbow) and catfish on it with no problems. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a new ultra light.
I bought this combo for the summer to do some lake fishing and was able to catch anything from bluegill and crappie to a few large-mouth bass.
5 uses that was a terrible exp my bad man I believe you just got a defective real I suggest take your trusted back up for sure but if your a true fishermen give old ugly gx2 another chance I am so confident in mine I won't use nothing but in fact contact shakesphere customer serv explain this to them I bet they will send you a brand new one free of charge that shouldn't have happened I believe was isolated bad real my friend
Purchased my GX2 Medium action combo and immediately swapped out the reel that it came with with a Penn Battle reel matching action and have slayed the Florida inshore and bank fishing species!! Since, I have purchased two more Ugly Stick combos and had a similar experience!! Bravo Shakespeare Bravo, another Grand Slam!! Tom D. Daytona Beach Florida
I have fallen in love with fenwick. Ive always been a St.Croix guy until my first eagle. Now i use the hmx, hmg, eagle, and one croix.
I purchased this rod in the 6'9" length over a St.Croix last year about this time and paired it with a Pflueger Supreme. I have been fishing since I was 12 and I am 21 now and I can honestly say I have never had a better rod! It is perfect for the type of finesse river fishing that I do and has great build quality, especially for the price. It even helped me land my biggest fish of the year, a 24 inch 5 pound smallmouth. My next rod will absolutely be a Fenwick! [This review was collected as ... part of a promotion.]
I've used open face reels for the longest but wanted a good spincast like dad and I used back in the day. I paired this with the Pflueger Trion 10SCB, which is a $70 combo and well worth it. I miss these spin cast reels and use it quite often now. Ugly Stick is known to be strong and dependable, great rods and no since to spend a crazy amount of money when you can get these at such a good price.
I always have liked Ugly stik, and the GX2 no exception. Gave the 7' and the 6' a little overhand swing in the aisle, and the 6' is more easy to control with one hand, but I could definitely tell there was more power in the 7' with two hands. Went with the 6' because it felt better balanced, and love it. I'm going to end up getting a 7' too. I was especially happy with the guides; safe for braid, and don't corrode in salty water!
After recently snapping my fresh water rod I was looking for a sturdy replacement. I popped into Academy and i knew i wanted a ugly stik which one of my friends suggested them for their extreme durability so i found this one and luckily it was on sale for $10 off but i love this pole ! very durable and still very sensitive I may even get another one while its still on sale !
As a lifetime 2nd gen ugly stik fisherman but not a graphite fan, I will say this new pole has my approval. As a lite packing creek fisherman the durability is amazing to track up and down streams and thru the brush banging around in my back pack and against limbs. (Like my original ugly stiks). This is my tenth ugly stik of my nine ugly stick collections. I broke one a few years back, it was user error snapped it in the car door. Rookie mistake. I was shocked when a fellow creek fisherman ... introduced me to the GX2 as a surprise gift. It's a 7 foot two piece. I was shocked on how little it weighs. Stylish and they kept it classy. Now I'm ready for the weather to warm up and go on a long day of wading our Indiana creeks chasing walleye, sauger, and any other fish we tie into. Maybe at the end of this season my GX2 won't be coming off the bench or that number two spot, it just might have a permanent home in my back pack next to tackle and stringer.
This Falcon rod has excellent durability without sacrificing sensitivity. You can feel the fish bite and it has the muscle to help with setting the hook.
This rod is very light and responsive, awsome rod for using in the Gulf while wading. I use it to catch trout and reds while wading. I can cast all day using bass assassins or similar lures. Great price also.
This rod performs very well and is built with top craftsmanship. It is light but strong and sensitive.
Works good with live or bait. I use shrimp and shad. Caught trout, flounder, black and red drum. Good for inshore fishing
I love this leader. I have 5 of them. I have caught countless flunder on them.
My choice is the Lightning rod MH 6ft love the action 10# Fire line on a pflueger reel walleyes are in the boat
For the type of angling I do I prefer a fast action rod. The drawback is that all of the pressure is placed on the rod tip and this can lead to premature failure (stress fractures and the like). This is ok with me because I don't typically purchase ultra expensive rods. My go-to for bass fishing has been the Berkley Lightning Rod series. They are tough, live up the the abuse that I dish out and I hope the fine folks at Berkley never stop making them.
I bought this months ago, and only recently did I realize its AMAZING! Went fish spearing and caught around 5 fish. Stick is great, but can be slippery at times.
I bought this a couple weeks ago to hang my waders to dry. Easy to install and use.
Have been buying this Brand and size for years and it has never let me down. Almost all of it has been in saltwater use.
I recently purchased 2 Waterloo Rods. One bait casting Salinty and one Phanthom spinning rod. They are very light with quick tips, but yet have strong backbones. Both allow me to to cast better and further. I highly recommend these rods.
I buy the smaller quantity of live worms at my store. They are always fresh! Work great!
Comfortable, keep out sand/small rocks, stay on in the thickest mud, and cruise over she'll reef with no problem. I would recommend going one size up from what you would normally wear. I wear an 11/11.5 in shoes and a size 12 zip it fits perfectly.
After hearing good things about these I decided to buy a pack. I went to my local lake and wasn't having any luck for hours using various types of lures. I tied on one of these and caught four bass in 20 minutes, I was hooked. They could be more durable, but for the price it's hard to complain. Do not buy any other beaver type lure, these are the best.
These are my favorite flippin bait the are very durable and are my go to bait have at least 10 different colors in my flippin boxes. Do not buy any baits similar to this because this is the best one
these add that extra little bit of weight to help your cast, and are easy to attach. love 'em
