I recently bought my GX2 four piece travel spinning rod. I took it out to a fresh water lake in Puerto rico on 2/25/2017, can't wait to show you the pictures of two peacock basses I caught. The rod tip bent all the way forward and held up just fine I am very happy. For the price I paid this rod performed well and exceeded my expectations. I recommend the GX2 rod to all fishermen / women.
I purchased this rod to fish for Bull Bluegills. Nice ultralite tip section with a good backbone. I have it matched up with a Quantum Throttle reel.
I've used open face reels for the longest but wanted a good spincast like dad and I used back in the day. I paired this with the Pflueger Trion 10SCB, which is a $70 combo and well worth it. I miss these spin cast reels and use it quite often now. Ugly Stick is known to be strong and dependable, great rods and no since to spend a crazy amount of money when you can get these at such a good price.
I always have liked Ugly stik, and the GX2 no exception. Gave the 7' and the 6' a little overhand swing in the aisle, and the 6' is more easy to control with one hand, but I could definitely tell there was more power in the 7' with two hands. Went with the 6' because it felt better balanced, and love it. I'm going to end up getting a 7' too. I was especially happy with the guides; safe for braid, and don't corrode in salty water!
Used a 7' gx2 medium heavy to haul in 20 +pound snook . It was bent to a full C but didn't break . Just got the 6'6" heavy to get them in the boat faster .
I picked up 3 last year of the 7'6'' ML for walleye fishing. Wind was right an the salmon were in shallow water. I dug out some J-plugs and put them to the ultimate test. Backbone for days, rods didn't whine under the pressure. I gave them the most extreme test this year, respooled with 30# braid and using them as pumphandles, hanging a 8oz weight in front of a flasher fly combo. Don't like the trigger deal on the handle, I guess there not made for Lake Michigan salmon trolling. Best rods for the moneys.
I bought this line for my ice fishing reels and it has performed very well. It is very flexible, strong and sensitive. No complaints here! As an angler that has used monofilament line for over 20 years, I am happy with the switch.
I have Fireline Crystal on 7 of my 9 fishing rods.My Ambaseduer 6500 has had the same fused crystal line on it 4 years now, and remains as strong as the day I spooled it. This line has no memory, which lessens the possibility of backlash. My spinning reels also have crystal, and are fantastic.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is the best bait for fishing when you want to just tie on a lure and throw it out and regardless of how you reel it in it will catch bass/crappie big and small. i went fishn with my brother one day and he grab some shad colored ones and after I say how they just attacked it all day I was sold on them. I found that if you are not using a light action or UL rod you will have trouble with fish gettn off them. These swimbaits do not need much of hook set cause the fish bite on and swims off ... if you jerk it will let go before hook set I just reel down onto the tension and the fish kickn its tall will set the hook if the rod is to stiff they will get off normal.
I have caught all three species of bass, crappie, trout, rock bass, bluegill and trout on the 2" and 3'" baits. A good value as well as a terrific lure. I have done the best with the (red eye) pearl white pattern. A pause after casting often is needed at times. I do vary the retrieve as dictated by conditions. Thanks!
This reel is the backbone of the Penn all purpose saltwater line in my opinion. Quality build, easy to service and repair. Smooth drag and indestructible. Have had mine, (2 of them), for over 15 years and are still as reliable today as the day I bought them. Use them for trolling, kingfish, dolphin, sailfish and grouper as well as conventional bottom fishing for grouper, black bass, grunts, snappers and the "reef donkey" amberjacks. Highly recommend these reels if you want a reliable, all ... purpose reel that you can depend on for years to come. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
i have 8 pen senator reels. everything from jigmasters ,squiders, 3-0, 4-0, 6-0 and 9-0. a long time ago, a good friend told me"just buy the best you can afford. and wait till you can afford the best." i tell everyone the same thing. the only thing i've ever changed were the drag washers. still rock solid , kicking butt and taking names. They cost a little more than I like to pay, but they last longer than most that I have used in salt water. The paint and the eyes do not peel or fall out, so if u take the time and clean them and sharpen the hooks after each trip, they are worth the extra money u spend.
My TLD is my favorite reel for fishing anywhere for anything offshore.
I bought my first chatterbait around 2 months ago and have not been disappointed. Since then I have aquired 3 more and consistently catch good size bass with them. Makes a great "chattering" sound that attracts bass of all sizes. A must buy!
I love throwing Chatterbaits in early spring and around grass.
It's a toss up, live maggots or sparkle nibbles. One thing is for sure, sparkle nibbles always catch crappie thru the ice. Even when the bite is tough, the aggressive ones always hit the nibble.
I used this product to tip an artificial lure. Very good hits. I decided to try the nibbles without a lure and just on a plain gold aberdeen hook with one little nibble on it under a float. Bam! I caught the biggest bluegill I've ever had the pleasure of landing. I noticed when using these nibbles, I only caught large bluegill. I am not sure why but the smaller ones did not touch it, which was good for me. My only issue with this bait was the constant need to place another nibble on the hook. ... Bait does not stay on well and the glitter comes off very easily,,, on your hands and in the water. However, considering the success rate, I find it was worth it.
This is a great line. Will tell others about it !!!
Have been buying this Brand and size for years and it has never let me down. Almost all of it has been in saltwater use.
I like this best so far. I think the lack of line memory and ease of handling makes it better than Sunline Sniper. I liked Seagar Invisix, but this handles better and has better knot strength and less stretch. I know it is expensive, but it has held up pretty well for me this year. If you are new to fluorocarbon, do yourself a favor and always use line conditioner.
Although I am a Charter Boat Captain and fish saltwater for a living my true love of fishing is from my roots of crappie and bream fishing and I do this every chance I get. Got into spyder rigging for crappies not long ago and was overwhelmed by the rods on the market. Decided to go with a brand I am familiar with and like always Shakesphere came through with everything I needed and expected, the 12' CRAPPIEHUNTER Rods are all you need. Perfect performance every time as always from Shakesphere!!!!
I own 4 crappie hunters 2 are 9 ft and 2 are 10 ft I used them for spider rigging in crappie tournaments and they did all i aksed for ... easy to see even light bits and enough baqckbone to pull out the bigger fish including some small bass that were by catch . They also work well for vertical jigging and casting small jigs .
90% of all my fishing tackle comes from Academy. They have the products I need, all the right colors AND at the right price. My orders always arrive fast and correct.
I bought these along with some other items from academy for my husbands birthday!! He's a big fisher/Hunter!! He was super excited to get these!!
Bought this rod for my girlfriend for Christmas but couldn't wait. We took it striper fishing just to see how it did. First fish broke off using 12lb line. But was happy to see her haul in a 6lb striper yesterday. I am very impressed with the this rod and ugly stik as a whole. Will be buying there striper combos for bigger striper soon.

This rod is very light and responsive, awsome rod for using in the Gulf while wading. I use it to catch trout and reds while wading. I can cast all day using bass assassins or similar lures. Great price also.
