I've been using 14 pound test FireLine on all my inshore spinning reels for over 10 years (first the original smoke color and since its introduction, FireLine Crystal). I use it for bucktailing fluke, bouncing soft plastics for striped bass and weakfish, jigging up porgies, sea bass, and bluefish, and skipping metals across the surface for false albacore...it has always performed flawlessly! I get asked all the time, "With the thin diameter of braid, why don't you use 20 or 30 pound test?" I ... tell them that I have never, EVER, broke a fish off due to line failure! That includes incidental catches of 40+ pound cownose rays and gorilla 15+ pound bluefish. My grandpa once landed a double header keeper striped bass 28 inches and 8 pound bluefish on 14 pound test FireLine and then landed a 13 pound fluke on the next cast with the same outfit. FireLine is a proven performer in my eyes!
I have been using FireLine for many years for some trolling applications and most of my jigging for walleyes. It is very durable and long lasting, making it cost effective as well as functional. The no stretch construction increases sensitivity and allows for better feel and better hook sets. Being a thinner diameter, it trolls deeper and is less affected by wind. FireLine definitely enhances my fishing success.
This works awesome on my Tundra 125 with the tie down straps. I have one on each side. If you wrap the straps around the lower part of the rod holder and tie them off, it becomes rigid enough to hold a net, or rigged rod while you setup or land fish. You could probably even troll from it. Great design.
I bought a white tundra 45 for my boyfriend during the middle of summer and a few weeks later I figured he needed to have the rod holster because he spends most of his time fishing. He loves it, and used it almost every time we take the yeti out on the boat! It works great and he's even used it to hold a flag pole when tailgating :)
We have been in the Charter Business for 61 years always with Penn Reels!! The Penn Squall is a Great reel, smooth drag lighter than GTI 320 our Customers love it's look and feel! Great Job Penn. Coho Charters Since 1956.
I have been useing pen squalls for the past 3 years on a professional and personal level. I own and operate a salmon charter on lake michigan and put all of my faith in theses reels. The stand up to brute 20 plus lbs kings and day in and day out use. Very economical reel!
I bought this 2 years ago, loaded it up with 15lb braided line and casts a mile with light lures. I have 40 fishing rods (7) are Mitchell's this one is great. I will say previously the rods aren't the quality the reels are but this 7 ft rod works really nice. Great combo I'd buy more but my wife tells me I'm on a rod and reel suspension. Lol
Got my start in fishing with these reels 300, 308, 408 and so on as a matter of fact I still have them and they still work well that's a stament in itself with all the new manufacturers to chose from most don't last or perform to expectations [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Light weight and strong. Very sensitive. I've had this rod for 3 years and still love it. It has literally caught me a ton of fish.
I own 3 of the 7' spinning winch. Best rod for throwing 5cm shad style baits like the Berkley Bad Shad. Use a 20 size Revo spin and some nanofilament and you can cast a mile and feel every Rock and piece of wood. moderate winch action helps delay the hooks set perfectly. You cannot design this rod any better for this application. It's perfect.
I purchased This last spring in 2015 and fished it all summer and into the winter. The reel is smooth and reliable not heavy and easy to cast. The retrieve is smooth and fast this reel is all about reliability and functions very well even under heavy use. The pole is rigid enough to cast far yet light enough to finess even the smallest lures. I highly recommend this as a go to pole. The best part it's quality without breaking the bank. I got them for the grand kids they wanted to move up from spin cast 2 years ago so far no problems just a lot of cleaning if you know the way kids treat equipment started teaching them how to maintain them sorry not a camera person no pictures [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
These frogs are good, they walk across the water easily and before you know it a fish is hitting your lure. The first day i bought the lure my first cast I hit a bass.
This lure is amazing on the Louisiana Delta. I've caught more big fish during tournaments on this lure than any other lure I have in my arsenal. Great hooks, soft body, great hook set ability, and good walking action. All around great frog.
I purchased my first container of this a little over a month ago. I have gone through 2 of these now resulting in about 30 Channel Cats.
Great to catch the fish with. Used drift fishing in the lake.
Easy to use rod and reel plus great bonus with extra reel, just what I needed to replace another that had broken. Can't go wrong with a good Zebco 33
I had bought the little woman an inexpensive rod and reel earlier this year but the reel just didn't fit the bill. Finding this package of a rod and two Zebco 33 Classic reels was just what the doctor ordered. Now she has two good rod and reels. Couldn't be happier.
My phone is waterproof but doesn't float. To avoid losing it while kayaking, I attach the lanyard to the kayak and then to a ring on my phone. The ring is attached by a length of fishng line with loops at each end. One loop is threaded through two holes in the case and then on to a split ring.
Picked this lanyard up after growing tired of plunging my hand into the water repeatedly while wading to fish up my forceps. Works as you would expect, and no problems with rusting as of yet.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Those who know what they are doing will have no issues. Excellent for Muddminnows, if you know where not to throw it.
I've been using this stuff for about a month doing some heavy crappie fishing with great results. It seems to last longer than your typical attractant. A huge plus is it in no way shape or form stinks like any of the other stuff. Highly recommend it for bass or crappie.
Worked great have used several times. Fish seem to bite it harder and more consistent!!
I have purchased these in the past at the Academy in Palm Bay and they worked great on Reds and Trout in the Indian River. Just tried them here in Maryland and the Stripers love them also!
Very inexpensive and first time I used it worked great.
These Mirrolure C-eyes lures are proven fish catchers, have stout hooks and great action. Highly recommended.
I've used open face reels for the longest but wanted a good spincast like dad and I used back in the day. I paired this with the Ugly Stick GX2 6' Medium rod and it is a great combo. Solid, smooth reel with the strength and dependability of Ugly Stick. A $70 combo well worth it, this is my go-to now.
Red Fish killer. Nothing but Zman in my boat for me. Here's the proof.
I fish out of PA along the eastern seaboard, NC down into FL. The slow sinking maniac mullet absolutely slayed some reds on my recent trip to Jacksonville, FL. So glad I got some of these!!
great lure for saltwater speckled trout or red fish, I used it in the Galveston Texas area.
