I only wish I'd bought another one at the time. I'm just restating my fishing after about 5 years of not doing anything. This reel is the smoothest and easiest to use I've ever owned.
Awesome just and awesome reels all around!! At a great price!!!
I am a professional guide. I fish about 250 trips a year 2/3 are using the spinfisher reel. drags are excellent holds plenty of line and capable of catching anything that swims. I'm using Berkeley pro spec line excellent combination.
Have only used once since I just recently got it, but all the reviews were spot on
I now own 4 of this reels and love all of them. Super easy to adjust and fine tune. This thing take a beating too, i have one on my frog rod and I've put it through a beating and back. Still as smooth as when i got it.
These make 6 STX I own. Great reels and the sales price made this a easy purchase. Thanks
I have been useing c3 c4 and record reels for over 30 years. They are great durable and depedable reels . Very well built and the best part for me is the line guide moving when you cast, you get better and longer casts and better line lay. They work great with either mono or braid. And the 4601 is a great crank bait reel the perfect gear ratio for crankbaits and slow rolling spinnerbaits. I use them for bass, pike, catfish , muskie and have never had a problem with them. I tried a revo sx and ... didn't like it at all its going on craigs list can cast just as far with my c3 4601 or my c4 4601 and 5601.
I have had this reel for at least a 15 years. I do maintain all of my reels myself and the are disassembled, cleaned & inspected every year the, n lubed....but the endurance of my ABU Garcia baitcasting reels is remarkable. Nothing else comes close in y experience....and a few of these reels have seen salt water usage but are immediately disassembled, cleaned & lubed. I fish primarily for bass......and prefer a round reel for heavy duty fishing...be it jigging, flipping, heavy worming etc...... ... I also love the line capacity of the larger round reels. To anyone considering purchasing a reel, I highly recommend ABU Garcia! I only wish I could afford the top line REVO reels and such....being disabled sucks. this reel is honestly a great buy its my favorite reel that i have right now along with the abu garcia veritas 2.0, great combo.
Purchased this reel approx 1 month ago as a beginner. The reel is simple to use and adjust.
I have had a few promax baitcasters for a couple years and have been very happy with them. I came across the chance to buy one of these for a great deal so I jumped at the chance. The alloy frame and smooth bearings give this revo a great, quality feel. It casts great and is very smooth and strong. The 20lb drag is a bonus. A lot of more expensive reels don't have a drag that strong. I've owned it for a couple weeks and have fished with it 6 times. So far I really like it a lot.
I purchased the Revo S, and while I like it, it doesn't seem as durable as my Revo Winch. It's a good reel, but it isn't made as good. The sides seem cheap.
I've been fishing Daiwa since the TD-X came out in the mid 2000's and I felt it was time to update my reels and after doing some intensive research I bought two Tatula HS, one Tatula CT, and a JDM RYOGA. The RYOGA is a $500 reel, but I feel that the Tatula is just as smooth and of the highest quality. You will never regret the purphase.
Great product. Casts a mile virtually no backlash. Very good durability.
I put two of them on the TFO Joe Robinson inspired rods loaded with 2 lb test. The size, weight and smooth drag really compliment the awesome rod. Together they are perfect medicine microlight and finesse presentation for targeting Austin area monster sunfish. My son and I love hearing the drag sing on tons of bass, bluegill and red ears! The folks at Academy on Brodie helped out a ton when I needed the second one. Yvonne checked other locations then ordered it on an iPhone and it was at my door ... two days later! Like fishing magic! Y'all rock!
I bought my first Pfleuger President Micro a few months ago to use with a BnM Sam's 12' Jig rod (for crappie n sometimes bream), and it's been my favorite setup, and more addictive than bass-fishing. It seems to be a fish magnet compared to my other rods, and as crazy as it sounds, I've been getting hooksets on mid-sized largemouth bass with worms on size 8 hooks, using Mr Crappie 4 lb test. I was gonna try to get the next model down for a bream-specific reel, but they didn't have any so I ... picked up another president micro, which i'm sure I'll love as much as my first one. Outstanding spinning reel, great for panfishing, when used with Mr Crappie Hi-Vis 4 lb test line.
I paired this reel with a 9.99 rod, added some 6 or 8 lb line. Went back the next day and bought 5 more. One had the nib of the catch break off, still works, but not well. The other have gotten heavy use over the last 6 year or so. The "trigger" makes is a great open face reel for newbies, people who have never fished learn it in just a couple of tries. Kicked one in the lake, three just got stolen, about to go buy another half dozen.
I purchased this reel a week ago and put it on a rod that I found abandoned back in the canal I fish and I have been slaughtering the catfish ever since!
This reel casts a mile and retrieves very smoothly. I love the grip on the handle. My wife has already tried to lay claim to this one so I'll be buying her one soon
I use it like a Crappie Reel. Flawless preferences. Weights heaver but can be handled. I like it, cheap and well made. It helped me catch these! See ya in the Creeks!
Got it used on a couple snapper trips works great I have to spooled with 50lbs braided got this on sale for $25 in store
I loved this reel. But the free line 20lb....was really bad. Tied a knot to hook they slipped off. Every time. A friend of mine was also stymied by this. No knot would hold. I'll get the line refilled with another brand. I am a novice fisher but the other guy wasn't...he said it was a very nice reel. I liked the free spool.
I Bought this reel to serve as a bait reel for both fresh and saltwater fishing. I like how it has sealed bearings so I don't have to worry about that when wading in the ocean. Obviously I try my best to not get the reel wet but hey "Stuff" happens. With all that said its a nice reel however it is on the heavier side weighing in at 12.8 oz.
I use to only buy Quantum PT reels but decided to try these reels after buying my boys some Lew's reels. The Lew's reels held up to teenage boys I've been using Lew's reels for 2 years now and am totally happy with the performance and durability.
best reel I've ever used plan tobuy more casting and retrive is unbelievable
I bought this during the Black Friday deals and combined it with a blackout rod. I have not had a single issue with this reel. drag and the brake setting are great. hardly any backlashes with this reel. *you will always have backlashes with a baitcaster no matter how good you are. Great price as well.
ORDERED 3 REELS ON SALE AND RECIEVED ONE CORRECT AND TWO WRONG. TOOK WRONG ONES BACK DIDNT HAVE A PROBLEM EXCHANGING THEM. REALLY LIKE THE LEWS REELS.
I own 6 of the Pflueger President reels - the 6930 models - and am very pleased with them. I have them spooled with 12 lb, 15 lb and 17 lb P-Line Floroclear and 20 lb Sufix braid. They are on 7 foot medium and medium heavy rods. I throw worms, creature baits, spinnerbaits, flukes, crankbaits, rattletraps, and top water baits - all for bass - in tournaments and for fun. I have never had any problems with these reels - they have never failed me.
Have other reels like this and added this one to my arsenal. A great mid-sized reel to have especially for ponds and smallmouth fishing.
The first fish I hooked I didn't have the drag tight enoung. The reel backspooled loosing the knob, reel came apart and fell in the water Lucky for me it was shallow and I retrieved it. Make sure the assembly knob and the drag are tight. After getting it set up correctly it has been a great reel.
I bought two of these to try on some ice fishing poles. So far they work good, just have to loosen the drag and hand strip the line down the hole. they are VERY smooth reels!
Just bought this reel replacing one that was stolen. Felt great in the store. Seems very smooth. I will be taking it out this Saturday to give it a full test run. Very optimistic about how well it will do since I know lews is a great brand.
