I now own 4 of this reels and love all of them. Super easy to adjust and fine tune. This thing take a beating too, i have one on my frog rod and I've put it through a beating and back. Still as smooth as when i got it.
This is my forth Abu Garcia reel I've purchased. Always the best! The Revo SX is the perfect most balanced reel I've ever had! Teamed up with a vengeance rod its a great combo!
I am a professional guide. I fish about 250 trips a year 2/3 are using the spinfisher reel. drags are excellent holds plenty of line and capable of catching anything that swims. I'm using Berkeley pro spec line excellent combination.
I have the 6500 and I love it so far. It cast really far on my 6 foot rod and handled a 5 foot gar with ease.
A friend of mine let me use one of these reels and it didn't take me long to figure out that I was in need of an update to my gear. I purchased a couple of these reels and was in business the only problem was once you use these reels your not going to use your old favorites.these reels are so light and smooth it isn't a workout to tourney fish anymore. These reels allow you to stay in touch with your baits witch in turn puts more fish in the boat. All I can say is less fatigue more fish in the ... boat. Thanks for keeping me in the game.
I have been using revo reels for 8 years now and all my originals are still working great. I recently started upgrading for the lighter weight reels. The STX is super smooth and casts like a dream. The drag and reeling motion is super smooth. Did I mention this reel is super light? They are ergonomically designed to fit your hand perfectly. When I sit it down and pick up an identical rod with a 8 year old revo on it I can feel a big difference in weight. You can't go wrong with the revos ... especially the stx. My background is a tournament angler. On the water almost every weekend. My reels get used. If I am only upgrading 8 year old reels to reduce a little weight you know they are durable and quality. You can't go wrong here.
I have been useing c3 c4 and record reels for over 30 years. They are great durable and depedable reels . Very well built and the best part for me is the line guide moving when you cast, you get better and longer casts and better line lay. They work great with either mono or braid. And the 4601 is a great crank bait reel the perfect gear ratio for crankbaits and slow rolling spinnerbaits. I use them for bass, pike, catfish , muskie and have never had a problem with them. I tried a revo sx and ... didn't like it at all its going on craigs list can cast just as far with my c3 4601 or my c4 4601 and 5601.
I HAVE BEEN USING AMBASSSADEUR C3 (SWEDISH MADE) ROUND REELS & THEIR PREDECESSORS SINCE 1959. NO OTHER REEL LINE CAN EVEN COMPETE WITH THESE REELS! YES, SOME MAY BE "SMOOTHER", SOME MAY BE MORE RUGGED (HARD TO DO) AND SOME ARE LESS EXPENSIVE. DAY IN & DAY OUT THESE REELS ARE THE WORKHORSES OF THE FISHING REEL WORLD. GIVEN PROPER MAINTENANCE, THEY LAST A LIFETIME AND MORE. YES, I RETIRED THE 1958 MODEL 5000 MY UNCLE GAVE ME IN 1959, BUT IT STILL WORKS AS WELL AS IT DID THE DAY HE GAVE IT TO ME. ... CANNOT TRUTHFULLY SAY THAT ABOUT ANY OTHER REELS EVER PRODUCED!
I have had a few promax baitcasters for a couple years and have been very happy with them. I came across the chance to buy one of these for a great deal so I jumped at the chance. The alloy frame and smooth bearings give this revo a great, quality feel. It casts great and is very smooth and strong. The 20lb drag is a bonus. A lot of more expensive reels don't have a drag that strong. I've owned it for a couple weeks and have fished with it 6 times. So far I really like it a lot.
If I could take 65lb braid, tie it around the world (using a polymar knot of course) and choose one reel to bring in ole girl!? Man, it would be this reel. A true blessing, an all around work horse. I'll never use another brand. Give yourself a round of applause.
accidentally lost rod/reel in lake- retrieved it after 2 days on the bottom and it still works like a boss. It did need a little cleaning and grease though. Caught my all time best largemouth (8lbs) on it last summer too. Tried and true reels, my dad still uses two ambassadeurs that are over 40 years old and doesn't miss a beat. You can't go wrong with an ambassadeur!
First cast with the ambassadeur i landed a 10lb 33 inch pike.nice piece of equipment .
Bought this reel a few weeks ago and put it on a 3' ice fishing rod for my daughter who is 2 1/2. Very pleased with this reel, casts smooth, light weight and easy to use. She loves it.
I used this tri10sc reel for the first time last summer and and i would like to buy at least 4 more but i can't no one has the #10 reels they have the #6 reels please have your tri10sc in the stores to buy ty
I can't say enough good things about this reel. I've owned nothing but Penns and figured I'd give Shimano a try. This reel is so smooth it not only impressed me, it impressed the fish. Excellent drag, casting is wonderful and if your into throwing lures this thing will not tired you out. I was sceptical when buying it but landing 40" plus reds and 35" plus snook on this reel makes a world of difference vs penn. I'll be buying another smaller version, currently have the 8000 and all my Penns can ... collect dust. Making the switch to Shimano. Plus the $120 some odd dollars I spent thought it would feel cheap. Not at all. I can't even say a bad thing about it.
I used it four days at the beach and am very satisfied with reel.
This reel casts a mile and retrieves very smoothly. I love the grip on the handle. My wife has already tried to lay claim to this one so I'll be buying her one soon
I purchased a right hand and left hand for two to three day trips so I can switch hand and not burn out. I love these reels and have landed 35 lb yellow-fin tuna, 40 lb deep water yellow tail, and 10+ lb ling cod. The squall is easy to cast and adjusting the drag is a cinch. The over sized handle and knob make even larger fish more manageable. I would recommend the squall lever drag to any angler that likes conventional reels, you will not be disappointed. I went out last year for bluefish. On two trips I caught nothing using the gear supplied on the boat. I bought this reel and I am truly satisfied! I have a bad back. I went out for striped bass today out of Captree and while everyone else had a fight reeling in their fish, I did it with ease. It was like I was reeling in a minnow. The only fight I had was with my bad back. After the fish got on the boat, other fishermen came over to me because I was in pain. I told them reeling in the fish was ... easy. The mate told them I have the BMW of reels. My back was the only problem. Great investment!!!!!!
My wife bought me one as a Christmas gift and it is as good or better than reels costing a lot more money, best bang for the buck in baitcasting reels. Extremely smooth, cast a mile and has a strong drag. If you're considering one you won't be disappointed.
Smooth reel, same great Lew's quality. love it, recommend it!
Picked one up little over a year ago now have 11. Traded all my old reels in. Better than most reels priced twice as much. Smooth, light and tough as nails plus a 3 year warranty it doesn't get any better.
When I first got the reel it was nice and smooth, but I could never throw far with it. Doesn't matter how heavy the lure that I'm throwing. It was instant backlash if you tried to cast it far. So now I only use the reel to pitch jigs closely, stick with a lews...
I have had reels in the same price category from several other companies in the industry. This blows the competition out of the water! Performs just as well as the $200+ reels that I own!
Great value for the price. Super light weight and comfortable fishing all day. Drag is strong for bass fishing and brakes are easily adjustable for no backlash. 3 year warranty is the best out there too
Bought this reel today and fished with it tonight catfishing caught 3 nice channel cats the reel worked like a,champ! I also bought a 7ft. GX2 Ugly stick rod and with a flick of,the wrist I felt I.could cast a country mile!!
does its job. Smooth reel, feel like I got good bang for my buck. Next reel will be a Pflueger.
I've used open face reels for the longest but wanted a good spincast like dad and I used back in the day. I paired this with the Ugly Stick GX2 6' Medium rod and it is a great combo. Solid, smooth reel with the strength and dependability of Ugly Stick. A $70 combo well worth it, this is my go-to now.
I bought this during the Black Friday deals and combined it with a blackout rod. I have not had a single issue with this reel. drag and the brake setting are great. hardly any backlashes with this reel. *you will always have backlashes with a baitcaster no matter how good you are. Great price as well.
This my 6th Lew's reels Having fished for over fifty years I own numerous other brands , some quite expensive. For the money you can not lose with Lew/s!
