Duck Hunting Outerwear
Because duck hunting season is generally in the autumn and winter when the weather can be harsh, you need high-quality, waterproof clothing to stay comfortable in your blind. Duck hunting waders, a kind of waterproof pant with attached boots, are a necessity. Most waders are chest-high, so you can stay dry while following your favorite fowls. Other duck hunting gear, such as well-insulated camo clothing, camo jackets and camo gloves, are highly recommended. Because ducks have great vision and can see color, your camouflage must be similar to your surroundings. That's why Academy Sports + Outdoors carries a large variety of camo patterns, including Realtree Max-5®, Realtree Xtra®, Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades®, Mossy Oak Break-Up® COUNTRY and Mossy Oak® Duck Blind®.
Duck Decoys and Duck Calls
Duck decoys are used to entice ducks to come near while you stay hidden in your blind. The duck decoys generally feature lifelike, feather-textured bodies positioned in realistic, anatomically accurate postures. When the birds draw close, you begin calling with your duck call, which is designed to produce realistic duck sounds. Once the birds have come within range, you can rise from your blind, quickly shoot with your shotgun, and bag some ducks to bring home for dinner.
