I bought this canopy for a trip to New Mexico. I couldn't get a different canopy on-line delivered in time for my trip, so picked this one up at Academy Sports at the last minute. I used heavy duty metal tent stakes instead of the stakes that came with this canopy. I also ran parachord from the corners down to some cloth bags filled with dirt to further support the shade. With this setup, the canopy held up in sustained 15-20mph wind for several days. When the winds finally got worse (dust ... storm) I pulled this canopy down. Other campers had larger, heavier-built canopies that collapsed under the same winds. I am very pleased with the performance for what this cost, great value.
Bought this to use at our daughter's soccer games, and it worked out great. We had high winds this weekend, so I suggest you purchase the weights for the legs to accompany the stakes that come with the canopy. Also, I suggest you buy the wagon available through Academy to help haul the canopy to and from where you are going to set it up because the canopy alone is a little heavy and awkward to carry.
Our first use of our Z-Shade started a little shaky going up wasn't as easy as advertised but worked well. we have now used it 5 times and each time it has gone up quicker. A little secret if only 2 are putting it up, put a stake in 1 corner and it pulls out a lot easier. Anyway, we had a big wind storm come with reported gusts of 25 mph and this canopy withstood the test.
I bought this hoping that it would be as easy to put up as I was told. It is!! I put it together so it would be ready for my trade show. I am a 54 y/o female and I put it together, up and took it down by myself just to see if I could. Took some time by myself, but it is doable. Will be quick and easy with a partner. It has not been rain tested, and the canopy is a lighter material but I am very pleased with my purchase.
I bought this 10x10 commercial canopy in February and used it sparingly ever since. Last week, a sudden rainstorm came up and the canopy collected large pockets of water. Since there was lightning in the area, we didn't try to take the canopy down and then the weight of the water caused the center pole to pull through the top of the canopy, tearing the material and dumping water on the merchandise below. The canopy had been great up until then, but failed all at once. The frame is in perfect shape.
I have read the reviews and actually kind of shocked at some of them, we own 4 of these for our outdoor events and can put them up by myself and they are more sturdy than most. One review complained about water coming through and building up, they don't advertise they are waterproof, they do make those for more money but don't complain about a feature that does not exist. Once you snap the frame into place the top canopy does not come loose, we have had tent blow away before they come off the ... frame. It's not hard to put up and a very good product, will be purchasing several more to create larger areas at our events.
I recently bought this canopy to set-up outside my kids sports tournaments. I am extremely pleased with it! It set up so easy and the half-side flaps are great! The top vents really help keep the air circulating. I also bought the weights to go around the legs, just to be safe, in case there is high wind. They are great too!
I decided to spend some extra money on a good canopy because the beach wind destroys canopys. Luckily I also bought some 'auger stakes' and rope just in case and it was good I did because it comes with no tie off points and some little bitty stakes. That's the reason I only gave 4 stars. I had to strategically tie the ropes to 4 points and then screw auger stakes into the sand and tie it down real tight. A storm came and the wind was brutal on Padre Island all week but the canopy made with no ... damage. With these quick canopys, if even one joint bends, the canopy is ruined. So no matter which canopy you buy, spend the extra money and buy some good stakes and rope for extra strength and your canopy will last a long time. (Note about picture: It has little side flaps but I have them all the way up so you can't really see them in the picture.)
A church in our community has 10 of these canopies. We have borrowed them multipe times for our fall festival and VBS. They have stood up to wind and provided great shelter/shade. The community has also used them at community events on many occasions. These 10 canopies have had many, many uses and are still in great shape. We have now purchased 2 more to add to the batch. GREAT BUY!!!
I bought two of these for my outdoor wedding this summer and they were great! Unfortunately it thunder stormed like a mad man, so my wedding was pretty well ruined--- But that's where it gets good :) It was raining so hard we decided to ditch everything and go somewhere dry. When we came back the next day to check on them, they were still standing just a firm as they had been when we set them up. And the tarps are waterproof which was great! I definitely recommend these :)
we bought one of these to use at our daughter's birthday party. we did a trial run of putting it up and taking it down before the party just to see how easy or difficult it would be. So amazingly easy. we actually went back and purchased another one. they provide great coverage and the se up and take down are so easy. great price
I bought this last spring for our sons many baseball games. It is easy to put up and take down. My daughter and I can do it by ourselves. We also use it for camping. No complaints here.
I bought this canopy to use at craft fairs. It looks great. It's kinda cheap made. I had to return my first one the first time I used it because one of the latches was defected. I did get another one because I really like the appearance .
like it but one leg wood not stay extended so I put a bolt thru it
as I have said above ordering was easy and delivery was quick and on time as for the product is was ordered as a Christmas present and will not be tried or used until spring so I have no comment for that.
Good Canopy, held up in a heavy rain and wind storm. Bought the same one at Tractor Supply as well, that one was under $190. Returned the one from Academy, lost out on shipping cost but still saved money.
Well made, well packaged and easy set up! Would buy again. Very happy!
The product came with a two-sided flyer urging me to "register you product" on www.quikshade.com Maybe I'm looking I the wrong place - but, where on the site is registration? Can't find it on the mobile or the main site or by searching. Other than that, the canopy itself seems easy enough. Would be nice if there were someplace to store the tent pegs other than a flimsy zip lock bag tossed in the bottom of the carry case - doomed to get lost quickly. And what is the smaller Allen-wrench like ... piece for? Details...
I bought in for Fourth of July 2015 and we love it so roomy
We have been using this type on the job site for a couple weeks. I just purchased another one. The long enough to place a picnic table under them for breaks. We have just been lowering the legs at night since we have had good weather, they are working out great.
Easy set up and easy storage. Appears to be durable.
We bought this shelter to replace one we had for 12 years. The best feature is the straight legs that allow more space inside the booth area. Also, it is exceptionally easy to set up.
I bought this because it was supposed to be an easy to put up by one person shade for the beach. Due to the wind it was difficult to get up, the stakes/sandbages didn't hold the one leg down to get the canopy all the way up. One use at the beach and we ended up with two bent legs to the point that it couldn't be collapsed and put back into the case. I think it would be great for the park or back yard. Once it was actually up the shade was really nice. I am saying "yes" to recommending this ... product, but only if you're planning on using it somewhere other than the beach.
Love the new canopy i bought from Academy. Its a great design and love the way you can tilt the legs so you can adjust the angle of the canopy to help block the sun. I highly recommend it. Its also light and very portable and compact.
I have used this a few times already. It did arrive a little beat up (I was not hear when it arrived) - the box was clearly torn and beaten. The tent was fine. One leg had 2 dents - but they did not interfere with the operation. I needed it for an event a few days after it arrived, so I just kept it and used it. It is clearly a cut above most of the pop ups out there (I was comparing against many pop ups at 2 events I went to) and is well worth the extra $$. The sides were easy to install ... and use. I am very happy with it overall.
Used for our weekly soccer games and provided a quick and easy way to provide shade for the players. Set-up and breakdown was quick and easy! Excellent value and multiple uses.
Box was damaged upon delivery, canopy and bag were fine. I've used this 4 times at Markets located on concrete. It's a little heavier than I expected, but I believe the weight helps it hold up in the gusty wind. I'm 5'3" and had trouble reaching and releasing the pins by myself, a little leverage is needed and I didn't have enough. Also, it is really hard to get into the bag, requires two people, the bag leaves little wiggle room but is very durable. The canopy is definitely protected in the ... bag. Other than that, this was easy to set-up and take down, holds up in wind (I do use leg weights), is the color I ordered, and works great to block out the Texas sun.
You cannot beat this price! A Pop-Up Tent like this can cost up to $1100! $70?! Unbeatable
I bought this as a closeout sale at Sports Chalet on 5/28/16 and used on 6/4/16. Well it worked great, really practical, even freaking nice. I mallet-ed the stakes, velcro-ed the back panel. It was fly....as I tear down, the wind blew and it flipped it but it did. One leg bent and NOW it's done...it needs replacing. I seriously hope these guys replace it because the product should be strong enough to withstand a wind flip as its others canopys do...and survive. Aside from that, it's a cool little canopy.
I received this today through Walmart's Pickup system. I followed the instructions, but struggled with getting it up. Finally, when my wife came out to help, we got it completed. The instructions are very brief, and don't tell that two people are needed to set it up. Also, the advertisement says 7 x 7 feet, but this is just for the feet. The actual roof top is 6 x 6 feet. This is still OK... but it is not very high. Be prepared to sit when within it. 6 feet or taller people would not ... be able to stand up within it. It is easy to carry and handle, so still an OK product... but be sure you know what you are getting before you buy it.
I've used this for a while now: once at the beach and multiple times at the race track. The Japanese looking vents at the top do not let water in, but make it a slight more pain to set up the canopy. I leave the top on when I collapse it down no problem. The vents help resist wind gusts a little, but recently the leg bent in high wind. Just call the Quik Shade people, give them the item number (147588 I think) and for less than $20 they will ship a new one out to you.
Great Canopy , Easy to set up and Take down, Love the Side pocket on carrying bag , This is then only canopy where i could easliy fit the top back into the bag when Im done using it.
