I bought this canopy for a trip to New Mexico. I couldn't get a different canopy on-line delivered in time for my trip, so picked this one up at Academy Sports at the last minute. I used heavy duty metal tent stakes instead of the stakes that came with this canopy. I also ran parachord from the corners down to some cloth bags filled with dirt to further support the shade. With this setup, the canopy held up in sustained 15-20mph wind for several days. When the winds finally got worse (dust ... storm) I pulled this canopy down. Other campers had larger, heavier-built canopies that collapsed under the same winds. I am very pleased with the performance for what this cost, great value.
I bought this canopy in orange, love it. The bag however is ripping at and around the seams, which is eventually going to be an issue. I work at farmer's markets as a vendor so this gets a lot of use. I set it up myself most of the time with no help.
I bought this hoping that it would be as easy to put up as I was told. It is!! I put it together so it would be ready for my trade show. I am a 54 y/o female and I put it together, up and took it down by myself just to see if I could. Took some time by myself, but it is doable. Will be quick and easy with a partner. It has not been rain tested, and the canopy is a lighter material but I am very pleased with my purchase.
We bought one of these for my daughter and her husband last summer. They've taken it to many softball tourneys. It's easy to put up (1 can, but very easy with 2). The test was when we met them at the beach. While in the condo to eat, a thunderstorm came up. In horror, we looked out the window and watched the tent blow about 50 yards down the beach, tumbling over and over. When the storm eased up, we ran out to recover the remains and found it to be completely together - nothing bent or torn.
I bought this 10x10 commercial canopy in February and used it sparingly ever since. Last week, a sudden rainstorm came up and the canopy collected large pockets of water. Since there was lightning in the area, we didn't try to take the canopy down and then the weight of the water caused the center pole to pull through the top of the canopy, tearing the material and dumping water on the merchandise below. The canopy had been great up until then, but failed all at once. The frame is in perfect shape.
This is my third canopy purchase and by far the best value. Very easy to erect and break down. Sturdy legs and many height options.Better stability in windy conditions than previous purchases.
I recently bought this canopy to set-up outside my kids sports tournaments. I am extremely pleased with it! It set up so easy and the half-side flaps are great! The top vents really help keep the air circulating. I also bought the weights to go around the legs, just to be safe, in case there is high wind. They are great too!
I used the canopy for two years on the beach and had many admirers. Nevertheless what is missing is a simple tie down. I know there are weights that can be purchased and they help with mild winds but damage by a big burst of wind can be prevented if there is a tie down . We observed canopies without vents but with tie downs that did not get destroyed. Otherwise a great canopy so it was painful for me to toss it in the garbage bent beyond repair.
A church in our community has 10 of these canopies. We have borrowed them multipe times for our fall festival and VBS. They have stood up to wind and provided great shelter/shade. The community has also used them at community events on many occasions. These 10 canopies have had many, many uses and are still in great shape. We have now purchased 2 more to add to the batch. GREAT BUY!!!
I bought two of these for my outdoor wedding this summer and they were great! Unfortunately it thunder stormed like a mad man, so my wedding was pretty well ruined--- But that's where it gets good :) It was raining so hard we decided to ditch everything and go somewhere dry. When we came back the next day to check on them, they were still standing just a firm as they had been when we set them up. And the tarps are waterproof which was great! I definitely recommend these :)
we bought one of these to use at our daughter's birthday party. we did a trial run of putting it up and taking it down before the party just to see how easy or difficult it would be. So amazingly easy. we actually went back and purchased another one. they provide great coverage and the se up and take down are so easy. great price
I bought this last spring for our sons many baseball games. It is easy to put up and take down. My daughter and I can do it by ourselves. We also use it for camping. No complaints here.
I bought this because it was supposed to be an easy to put up by one person shade for the beach. Due to the wind it was difficult to get up, the stakes/sandbages didn't hold the one leg down to get the canopy all the way up. One use at the beach and we ended up with two bent legs to the point that it couldn't be collapsed and put back into the case. I think it would be great for the park or back yard. Once it was actually up the shade was really nice. I am saying "yes" to recommending this ... product, but only if you're planning on using it somewhere other than the beach.
Great design and very easy setup!! Compact for storage, and versatile when up. It tilts and can keep sun out from many angles
We have been using this type on the job site for a couple weeks. I just purchased another one. The long enough to place a picnic table under them for breaks. We have just been lowering the legs at night since we have had good weather, they are working out great.
Easy set up and easy storage. Appears to be durable.
We bought this shelter to replace one we had for 12 years. The best feature is the straight legs that allow more space inside the booth area. Also, it is exceptionally easy to set up.
Good Canopy, held up in a heavy rain and wind storm. Bought the same one at Tractor Supply as well, that one was under $190. Returned the one from Academy, lost out on shipping cost but still saved money.
Well made, well packaged and easy set up! Would buy again. Very happy!
I have used this a few times already. It did arrive a little beat up (I was not hear when it arrived) - the box was clearly torn and beaten. The tent was fine. One leg had 2 dents - but they did not interfere with the operation. I needed it for an event a few days after it arrived, so I just kept it and used it. It is clearly a cut above most of the pop ups out there (I was comparing against many pop ups at 2 events I went to) and is well worth the extra $$. The sides were easy to install ... and use. I am very happy with it overall.
Used for our weekly soccer games and provided a quick and easy way to provide shade for the players. Set-up and breakdown was quick and easy! Excellent value and multiple uses.
I love these shorts! They are so comfortable for running, swimming or just wearing! Great sweat protection!
Last year I bought one of these from Sports Authority. This spring during some heavy winds one of the legs broke. I wasn't looking forward to spending $170 again so I contacted customer support on the off chance they could help me. After getting off the phone with support I had a new leg for my canopy shipped to me for less than $20. It also arrived in under a week. Its rare to find a company that offers customer support without price gouging nowadays. Good work
bought this to provide shade and keep dry from rain at football games. served purpose. wish the sides came down a few more inches.
I bought this as a closeout sale at Sports Chalet on 5/28/16 and used on 6/4/16. Well it worked great, really practical, even freaking nice. I mallet-ed the stakes, velcro-ed the back panel. It was fly....as I tear down, the wind blew and it flipped it but it did. One leg bent and NOW it's done...it needs replacing. I seriously hope these guys replace it because the product should be strong enough to withstand a wind flip as its others canopys do...and survive. Aside from that, it's a cool little canopy.
I really like this smaller canopy but like other owners I tried to use the instructions that came with the quik shade and it just did not work for one person. However, being a woman with usually no help around, I did come up with my own options (as usually) to set it up. I opened the frame as wide as I could and then turn the frame upside down and lock the frame into place at each leg by pushing down into place. The frame will lock much easier. Then turn the frame right side up and continue ... with the instructions (add the top cover and expand the legs.). To close reverse the above(lower the legs, remove the cover, turn upside down and unlock the frame and close the frame). I do not use it when it is windy so no other problems.
Box was damaged upon delivery, canopy and bag were fine. I've used this 4 times at Markets located on concrete. It's a little heavier than I expected, but I believe the weight helps it hold up in the gusty wind. I'm 5'3" and had trouble reaching and releasing the pins by myself, a little leverage is needed and I didn't have enough. Also, it is really hard to get into the bag, requires two people, the bag leaves little wiggle room but is very durable. The canopy is definitely protected in the ... bag. Other than that, this was easy to set-up and take down, holds up in wind (I do use leg weights), is the color I ordered, and works great to block out the Texas sun.
You cannot beat this price! A Pop-Up Tent like this can cost up to $1100! $70?! Unbeatable
I've used this for a while now: once at the beach and multiple times at the race track. The Japanese looking vents at the top do not let water in, but make it a slight more pain to set up the canopy. I leave the top on when I collapse it down no problem. The vents help resist wind gusts a little, but recently the leg bent in high wind. Just call the Quik Shade people, give them the item number (147588 I think) and for less than $20 they will ship a new one out to you.
This is a very substanial canopy! I bought sand anchors but have not had to use them yet, though we have had only average conditions so far. I think there would have to be a pretty good breeze to budge this thing. The ONLY drawback might be that it's a bit heavy for me to set up by myself or even to carry (or wheel!) around easily. But then again, it stays put! My son btw CAN put it up solo no problem. I'm an older-but-fit lady and its a bit much for me to set up solo!
I bought this canopy to use at craft fairs. It looks great. It's kinda cheap made. I had to return my first one the first time I used it because one of the latches was defected. I did get another one because I really like the appearance .
