Overall this is a great light. The main bulb has a good quality of light, and the low intensity light is great for reading. The instructions, on the other hand, are horrible. I'm an engineer and it took me about 15 minutes to figure this thing out. If I hadn't had the confusing instructions I could have probably figured it our much faster just through random button pressing.
I really love this headlamp, I had a tough time deciding between this and a Petzle Tikka/ Tikka Pro. I spent hours doing comparing the 2 products, and ended up going with the Spot, and am very glad I did. The tipping point was a you tube review of the 2 and the Spot just ended up being brighter, having longer battery life, and was tougher all around. I did not like the instructions that came packaged, it was like trying to read a foreign language, so I just watched a video. It also took me a bit ... of a learning curve to figure out how to change between red/white, and strobe settings for each, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes really intuitive. In spite of those two complaints, I feel that the quality of the product still merits 5 stars. I have put this thing through the ringer, and it has held up.
These carabiners are great! I originally bought one several years ago because I thought it looked cool and I was looking for something to use for hanging food while backpacking. These are the perfect solution for that. I liked that one so well, I ended up buying this three pack, as well as the keychain clip with all the little s-biners. I couldn't be more happy with them. Great product.
Bought 4 of these little guys to secure a tarp on the back of my truck. I had just bought a new engine and transmission and needed to keep the tarp secure and these held up perfectly! I am looking forward to years of load control service from the #4 S-Biners. Thanks Nite-Ize.
I bought this last month for a gift and decided to keep it myself and I love it!
I got this Dutch oven for Christmas, I do a lot of cooking out on the grill and smoker and wanted a Dutch Oven to give me more options to cook different things. The first thing I cooked in it was a beef stew, it turned out great. I really like the quality of this Dutch Oven, it is heavy not like those thin ones, it is made to last, and Lodge has been around for a long time and they know cast iron, you want go wrong with this one.
I originally bought this for canning projects, due to the 3 burner capacity. Haven't tried canning with it yet, but have used it for all sorts of other cooking. It comes with a cast iron griddle, one side smooth and one side with ridges. Chicken, pork chops, and steaks are cooked to perfection! The windscreen is very effective and only had the flame blow out once when set at low setting on an extremely windy day. I place my foldable Coleman oven on the grill for baking scalloped potatoes, ... muffins, cinnamon rolls, etc., and the stove keeps it a nice stable 350 degree on the low setting. Also, I believe this will be able to replace my old fish fryer, since all three burners get really hot on the high setting. I added the folding shelves as an accessory. These shelves are not only handy to have, but are extremely sturdy, as is the entire unit. This is not cheaply manufactured and is well worth the selling price -- quality crafted and built to last!
I should have purchased this thing long ago. Built well. Runs like a champ. Lots of canning and cowboy breakfasts in our future!
I got this among other items for my grandson's 13th birthday. He loves it! It seems to be of very strong material, not flimsy.
This bag is the perfect size and durable! Great product and very happy with it!
I bought this cast iron skillet for my wife for Christmas. She really loved it. The product (for this size skillet) was cheaper than any other I was researching and the buying process on Academy's website was fast and easy. I am very happy with the entire experience.
Best purchase ever I would recommend it to a friend
Very good product. Arrived on time as promised, and I am very pleased with the item.
I love this skillet! I use it to make breakfast, grilling sandwiches, and just general everyday use. It's just big enough to use often but small enough to not be a lot to clean up.
I've used many different types of pans through the years. I bought this one from hearing ancestors rave about it. I love it! The food taste better and clean up is easy or the same as any other pan. Yes it is heavy but, you dont have to hold it while stiring or flipping a burger. To clean, Add very hot water so the pan does not crack, heat for a bit if you have food sticking to it then take to the sink use mild soap and wipe down and rinse. Add your favorite oil to coat the pan while still hot ... then place in the oven or wherever you want, just make sure dust doen not settle on the pan, yuck.
I have purchased 3 of these cups for nesting under my 40 0z. Klean Kanteen or 32 oz. Nalgene bottles. In that position they fit perfectly to pack. I found using my measuring cups at home that 16 oz.s, (which is mixture amount for most Mountain House meals) stops in the cup about a mans finger width from top of cup. Total cup volume to rim is 20 oz. This has turned my cup accidentally into a measuring devise ! The GSI cup is stout for longevity and the handles are longer than prior handles of ... this type, giving the cup an easy hold. This cup can be directly placed into fire because of it's SS content which saves other fuel. I would urge practice at home prior to your trek to get used to the metal cup which is far hotter than your favorite ceramic mug at home on your lips when sipping morning brews. This takes some teter totter practice. I have seen cup "lips" which mount on the GSI's edge but never in person when shopping. Only positives with this gem and I love mine.
My family and I love the RinseKit! We use it for camping, fishing, and beach trips. I was a little skeptical about it, but it turned out to be way better than I imagined and a item that we use nearly every weekend.
Bought this for my dad & he loves it. Takes it scuba diving & on the boat.
My first experience with this bag was a gift to my son from a fellow wrestler. The younger son kept "borrowing" it so I purchased one for him. Now the next generation in the family is wrestling. It was a "must have" for him as soon as he started the season. The bag is roomy so that it will hold street clothes (including boots) as well as various snacks and beverages he will need for day-long tournaments. The mesh outside pocket is perfect for storing his head gear and allowing it to "breath" ... between matches while still being easily accessible, not to mention immediately visible so we know it is in the bag.
I bought this for my son. He loves it. I would definitely recommend it.
Got this mat to add a layer of padding under my bedding on a wood and canvas camp cot. I was using just an old thermarest and could still feel the wood center bar in the cot. The mat really worked great - put it on top of the thermarest and couldn't feel the center bar at all. This mat is good for camping, but you definately wouldn't want to take it on a hike. LIght weight but too big and awkward to carry around.
THIS CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE. I HAVE QUICKCLOT IN EVERY EMERGENCY BUG OUT BAG AND GET HOME BAG I HAVE. THIS IS THE BEST EMERGENCY CLOTTING AGENT I HAVE FOUND FOR THE PRICE.
This is a product that everyone should keep when they hunt, fish..ride ... it worked so well and the bleeding stopped almost immediately. I will definitely give this great ratings!
I do most of my camping in spring and fall, so temps can very greatly during the night and da-to-day. If warm out, just use the sheet. Get a little cold, cover with the blanket. Starts to freeze, pull the quilt over--you can't go wrong. If you know you won't be needing the quilted top, fold it under for extra cushioning. Caution: this is not for back packing. You simply can't compress this down enough to fit and it's way too heavy. But for "more typical" uses--it's great.
I purchased this bag to tag along with my son as we transitioned to Boy Scouts (me as a leader). Our first trip was in February in Florida during a hard freeze with temps in the low 20's & rainy. I found myself surprisingly warm in the bag, the boys & other leaders complained about how cold they slept, I had no complaints. I continued to use this bag on subsequent trips as the Florida temps rose, even during the blazing Florida summers I still managed to stay cool. This is my go to sleeping bag ... looking to purchase more for my sons. The cons; I'm 5'11, if your any taller I wouldn't recommend, it's also a bit bulky & heavy for backpacking.
I bought this backpack for my son when he was in 3rd grade. He picked it out over all the others and must say this backpack is great. I bought it in blue and white. It is very dirty but no holes and no ripping. He still has this backpack and now uses it for toys because its so dirty. He's going to 5th grade and I pulled it out the closet and its still in great shape. If you are looking for a good small backpack for your elementary child this is great. I promise this will last the entire school ... year and more!!! I may add a picture later.
I bought this item for my wife online and it affived super fast!
I bought some similar style and specs, Magellan Outdoors Crew Merino Wool Expedition Socks with a blend of 70% merino wool, 29% stretch nylon, 2% spandex. I bought 3 pairs from in store at $5.99 a pair in Frisco, TX. Nester Hosiery makes them Magellan and others in Mt. Airy, NC who also makes specialized socks for miltary, police, etc. No matter SmartWool, Magellan, whomever, you cannot sacrifice the extreme warmth that Merino Wool in medium or heavy weight (I do not buy light weight socks) ... gives you I have found. I will always buy at least 70% or higher Merino Wool for my outdoor socks, or in home cozy time socks from now on. Acrylic and poly blend with wool socks are NOT as warm feeling. Cotton is the worst, since it retains moisture which causes feet to be cold AND causes blisters by keeping feet moist. I have been though 12 different brands of various blends and found that at least 70% Merino Wool or greater is the trick to keeping your feet very warm and blister free.
fair priced. preformed as described. stays on ankles. not a bad deal
I purchased this item to add to my emergency / survival bag. One never really knows when a disaster may strike... so be prepared. They say all things can be dealt with either by duct tape or WD40. The roll I bought was high visibility orange.
nothing works like duck tape for a variety of quick fixes
