Pro's: Clear even at max magnification Crisp adjustments Gathers light very well Dead hold BDC and Vortex LRBC work great to gather Con's: Very short eye relief. I have had to alter rails to clear the scope it is so short. No sunshade for this model even though its threaded. -over all its a great scope for 200 or less. Competes with scopes that cost $400-500. If the eye relief was fixed it would be one if the best hunting scopes on the market in my opinion.
I have 2 of these scopes 1 on a muzzleloader and 1 on a hunting rifle. The light transmission is better than my conquest I have on a different rifle. Crisp image and nice reticle. Dead hold seems legit as well I have used on my rifle "6.5 Creedmoor" out to 600 Yds. I have banged both scopes around quiet a bit between the 4 wheeler and walking in the mountains thru thickets with no issues.
Around two weeks ago, I purchased the Mossberg Patriot synthetic in 30-06, as a combo with the Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 (For $439!) I couldn't be happier with the rifle, but the optic is what really shines. This optic is very clear, and has a great field of view. The Dead hold BDC is enough to provide hold overs for longer ranges, but not so much that it will get in the way for hunting. I will surely be purchasing more vortex products in the future!
I got this scope for its cheap price to put on to my cheaper rifle that i do just about everything with, but it is by far the best scope i have ever had and used! Its rugged, crystal clear, and you can not beat the warranty on vortex's product. I will continue buying all sorts of vortex products for all my firearms, and then some!
Recently got into rifle shooting. Paired this scope up with my Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308, I couldn't be happier! I will recommend Vortex Optics to anyone that is in the market for a riflescope. Affordable. Great warranty. Great quality!
I have been using the Diamondback hp 4-16 x 42 riflescope for about 12 months. I am extremely happy with this product. For the price point I have not seen better or clearer glass. From 4 x through 16 x the image remain completely clear and focused. I have the scope mounted on a Tikka t3 Lite Stainless in 3006. I would highly recommend this scope. Also you can not beat the Vortex warranty. I use the scope to hunt moose. The only part of the scope I am not sure of is the accuracy of the parallax ... adjustment. I played with it over several distances and ended up setting it on 100 yards where it remains.
I have the HSLR mounted on a Sako Long range rifle, both are new. I was able to shoot a 1" group at 200 yards from the beginning. I plan to continue working out to 1000 yards.
I use my LR for hunting and I love it I can see everything from the bobcats in the tall grass to the bucks crossing the pasture. I talk all my friends and family into buying them and I always get a thanks.
Bought a mossberg 270 that had the crossfire II and to my surprise after bore sighting it....... I was dead center on the bull at 100 yds after two shots. Fired 10 more and I never got out of the bull. I am about to order another one for 30-06.
I do a lot of coyote hunting night and day and have been for the last thirty plus years. This scope has become my favorite for for my Remington 700 22-250 because it is crystal clear has a good field of view and it gathers light at night to make it easy to quickly pick up those eyes get on them and lay em down. Then put the warranty vortex carries on top of that!! A no brainer. I currently have have three vortex scopes and plan on sticking with them for all of my optics.
Vortex hits another homerun , I put this scope on my crossbow with the optimizer attachment and it is as accurate as a rifle . I own 2 high end Austrian made scopes and for the money the vortex has gotten the job done for thousands less
I bought this for my wife's AR it was too big for this weapon. I took this scope to my local gun shop and they were impressed with the quality of this scope. I traded it in for full price.
I've had this scope for a year now without any problems. It sits atop my little girls Recruit crossbow. It did take a bit to sight it in, but I have zero complaints.
Scope is very clear and works in low light fairly well. Mounted it on my Barnett Commando crossbow.
I bought this 2 days ago and brought my Ar-15 back to get it bore sighted for free at academy, like they do for all optics you purchase with them. Started a little low and right, however 5 clicks up and 12 to the left had me shooting bulls eyes immediately. Used it on 4 & 3 brightness (indoors) and could almost see through the dot to what I wanted (I shoot w/ both eyes open) . Just take a deep breath and exhale when you pull, never done me wrong. First and hopefully last red dot I purchase. No ... need to spend 100's on a good red dot as long as you know how to shoot. This one gets the job done and done right.
Bought this a while back, put it on my u22 noes. I have shot box's of bullets through it and I can be sure on shot placement every shot. Great product for the price! Thanks Academy Sports and Outdoors
Very happy with this scope. The clarity is superb. Several friends have higher end scopes and are very impressed with the optics. Can't wait for hunting season to begin!
I bought the scope a couple weeks back and love it.
Wanted a scope for my AR in 7.62x39 and there were so many choices out there. Some how I found this, What a great scope. Best glass I have seen anywhere near this price point. At just 12 ounce way lighter than most other scopes I looked at. FYI the P Series mounts work very well with this and are just 5 ounces the complete set weighs what most scopes just weigh. Size, weight, and the quality make this one a winner
Bought 2 weeks ago -really glad I did. Easy to sight in. Holds adjust ment. really easy to see through. Fog proof' . Fun to shoot with. I Believe You will love this scope.
The sale price was great for this scope very clear even in low light
I purchase three of these scopes for fast brush hunting in the Wisconsin swamps. Once you learn to use them they are very fast to use. Optics great. I, used one on .338 Mag Sako to goo sheep hunting and took a 40 inch plus Dall Sheep in Alaska. Other scopes did fog up, my Tasco did not, we laughed! They had $300-450 scopes and mine cost under $50.00. After I shot my ram they mounted my scope on their rifles. All took a ram and this Tasco saved the day. I gave it our outfitter after then. Go figure.
I needed a scope for my Savage Arms 93R17 BTVS rifle and this one fits the bill nicely. I decided to get the 50 instead of the 40 OBJ for the extra light gathering capability. You need to use the extra high mounts for it so keep that in mind. It was easy to mount on the rifle and then sight in at the range. As a first time rifle shooter I was able to hit a 1 1/2" five round group at 100 yards. For the money it's a good scope and does the job.
Scope is extremely clear. Great value. If your thinking about getting one.. DO IT NOW!
I bought this to use on the sport arise 1891Argentine Mauser to use it as pig hunting rifle.got to pigs no problem sighting in and scope @100 yds
Haven't shot it yet. Going to sight it in tomorrow. And dial in the TAG Rectical
Had purchased an older model Knight Muzzle loader from local pawn shop. Had come with a cheap scope, no sling, and cheap plasitic sights that wouldn't adjust. Was looking around at scopes for the rifle, after removing sights, and came across this scope. Didn't have much money to spend on more expensive scope, so I gave this one a chance, I'm glad I did. Installed and zeroed quickley and easily. Use it for hunting now, very accurate scope and have had no issues. This is one of the best scopes I ... have bought for such a low price. Deffinently recommend this for muzzle loader shooters.
Mounted this on an old 30-30 sighted it in withing 3 shots, have shot over 150 rounds and it is still on its mark! Great product for the money. Academy's alway the place to go.
Worth the money. Good value. Clear optics and precise adjustments.
I bought this sight about a week ago to put on my AR 15 after I had it sighted in I was shooting baseball sized groups at 50 yards and tearing up balloons at 100 yards. You get what you pay for but for the price it does everything I need it to
I saw this site while walking through Academy Sports one evening. I was surprised to see a red dot sight with a 3 MOA for less than $100. Since I intended to mount this on a high powered spring-piston air rifle, I called and spoke with customer service at Crosman. I was informed that all of the Crosman/CenterPoint scopes and sights were airgun rated, and that this sight would withstand the unique/violent recoil of a magnum springer. The next day, I purchased this sight and mounted on my ... Ruger Impact, a .22 caliber air rifle. For the short period of time that I had the Ruger Impact, the sight worked very well, and never lost its' zero. I used this sight on a Remington Express .22 caliber air rifle, as well as a .22 caliber Benjamin Steel Eagle. I have used this sight on 3 different high powered air rifles, and it has withstood nearly 1,500 shots. A few weeks ago, I purchased the same sight for a high powered .177 caliber air rifle. After about 50 shots, the adhesive that attaches the front eye piece to the body of the sight came loose and fell off. I returned it to Academy Sports and got another just like it. Unfortunately, when I got home, the "dot" did not display. I returned this sight and got another one. Before leaving the store, I verified that the electronics were in proper working condition. I intend to mount it on the same .177 caliber air rifle and test it out over the next few days. My 4 star rating is based mostly on the product, and to some extent, the customer service I received from Academy Sports. Although I feel that Crosman/CenterPoint should have tighter quality controls, the product itself is excellent.
Great scope, easy to calibrate easy to true it out. This is made for .223 or a .22 only. Great clear glass. Bushnell has histoy.
