Had these about a month. Has great features, love the option to zipper them up then lace them up and then never have to lace up again. Are good looking enough to wear out as every day wear with the leather foot ,which I have done. They are water proof, been in over ankle and feet dry. Very comfortable , very little break in needed. Recommend getting half size larger for fall thicker sock weather. Copper head struck foot and the boot gave total protection, lives up to name of snake defender. ... These boots are highly recommended for fit, style ,price, looks, and good protection
Wore these boots to the field yesterday. They were surprisingly comfortable without break in. I got a half size larger for more room in toebox. Went through some tough, swampy areas, but the boots stayed dry. Saw a couple of snakes in the tall grass, but didn't get that close to try out the boots that way, which is fine by me! Felt better having the on, however. Bottom line, good snake boots at a great price. Recommended!
I went scouting this weekend and was in some tall grass, didn't even see the water moccasin until I stepped on him and he struck my calf. The snake was about a 2 foot water moccasin and he did not penetrate the boot. I will never go into the woods without these boots again...
Bought these because I moved to property that has two types of poisonous snakes and we tend to get our feet wet around the pond and creek. Seemed like the best of both worlds, protection from bites and soggy socks, except they leak water. Reading other reviews seems to be luck of the draw with the water proofing. Other than that the boots are comfy once broken in, the zipper instead of lacing is what sold me on this pair. I'll be keeping them for the snake armor, but now I need to shell out ... another $100-$200 for some good knee high waterproof boots
Tried these at work where I was on my feet most of the day and they were very comfortable. Used them opening weekend (hunting) and I am very pleased with them. I don't now if they will hold up or not but will not hesitate to buy again.
I bought these about a month ago, just to see if they were as good as I remember. It would be hard to beat the price for a decent shoe. So far I'm very happy with them, so much that I went ahead and bought a second pair to stash away.
I actually got these boots on clearance and could not be much happier. I needed a new pair for turkey hunting in the deep south swamp bottoms of North FL. These boots are light weight and comfortable. I did a lot of walking. I did notice after hours of walking, they began to slip just a pinch b/c of the material on the inside. However, this did not hamper my efforts to harvest the elusive longbeards that strut about the North FL landscape. I would recommend these boots and I look forward ... to wearing them among the same swampland on the family farm when deer season begins in the fall.
I bought these for my 13 year old nephew as his feet are growing like crazy and I didn't want to spend 100.00 for a pair of boots that he would outgrow. After a month of use he is very pleased with the boot. I was so impressed with them that I will be purchasing a pair of these for my next pair of farm and bow hunting boots.
We purchased these based on reviews and are glad we did. They are very comfortable and easy on and off. price was right. our pants fit inside and they hit right below the knee. Have not seen a snake since I got the boots. OK with us. Both the wife and husband wear while mowing or walking near the woods/creek.
My husband owns a pair of Chippewa boots that he has had for years so that is the reason we bought these for our son for his birthday. I read the reviews and noticed that it was mentioned they run a half size big but I bought his normal size anyway. When he tried them on sure enough they were to big. We exchanged them for the same boot in a half size smaller in one of your retail stores. The store clerks were very nice and it was a no hassle exchange. I'm sure our son will get years of pleasure ... from these boots.
I've worn these boots for 2 hunting seasons now and they are great. They are really light weight and comfortable. The only problem I've had is that the sole is starting to come alose.
I bought these today...tried them on and they fit perfectly. Note though: they fit one/half size smaller then your normal show size. Also they make you appear taller. I like these boots
I bought these for early spring fishing. Finally got to try them out last weekend. It was 30 Degrees. All I had on under them were some regular cotton socks and my feet never got cold. I was worried that these boots weren't insulated enough, but there's something about them that holds heat very well. Very pleased with my purchase.
I bought these boots for my husband to go on a hunting trip and according to him these are the best boots that he has ever owned in a long time. He was well pleased at the way they kept his feet warm in 8 degree weather. He had the thick socks and said that there is no need for thick socks.
I went through numerous pairs to finally get some that fit. I ended up having to get 1.5 sizes smaller than what I normally wear to finally get a pair that fit well. One thing to keep in mind is that these boots are warm. The thinsulate really does its job. These are probably not the best choice for summer boots, but they would do a great job during the winter. I went hiking/hunting one day when the highs were in the low 70s and my feet were sweating. Other that theater they were very comfortable.
Made well. They are hard to put on. The top needs to be a little bigger. Very comfortable to wear once you get them on.
I bought these boots several years ago for water quality testing and they have not disappointed in typical use. Recently, a friend of mine threw up in them and I didn't notice for 3 days when I accidentally knocked them over. The scent-blocking is fantastic. I highly recommend.
Love this boot. Size ran true - I wear a 10.5 and bought an 11 which gave me a little room to wear thicker socks. The cushioning sole makes wearing them all day a pleasure. Which I could not do with cheaper rubber boots. Tried them in mid-30's temp and they kept my feet warm. Very pleased with this boot. And they look sharp.
I purchased the boots for a four day fishing trip. The weather was ranged between 17 and 33 degrees Fahrenheit with some misting rain and sleet . These boots met the challenge . Dry, warm and comfortable to have on for long periods of time. One pair of socks and a small toe warmer. Great pair of boots for this application .
Bought this as a gift and wasn't sure if it would fit well. It did!
looks like these replaced the game winner brand boots as they are very similar but you can tell the difference in quality in the Magellan boot. I put mine through the ringer and they are holding up nicely.
Bought them for cold weather hunting, feet stay warm.
I bought my boots about a month ago and have worn them several times. The zipper that runs down the inside of the boot makes it very easy to put them on and take them off. The zipper is strong and I can tell it will last a very long time. I have worn them out in the field bow hunting and have had to walk over half a mile to my blind. The boots are great to walk in and are extremely sturdy. I don't think I would go hunting in the Rocky Mountains with them, but they are great on small hills and ... flat ground. The rubber soles on my previous three pairs of snake boots have fallen off. These Justin's don't have that type of glued on rubber sole and I doubt they will ever fall off.
Size is slightly large compared to normal Justin boots, and requires quite a bit of breaking in before comfortable. Overall these are good boots, and I am happy with the purchase
Now I have no idea how durable these shoes will be but on my first outing I was impressed. I do a lot if walking through the creek bottoms. In Texas it can be hard and dry or real muddy. Today was both. I added inserts and wore heavy socks. I felt like I was wearing a really comfortable pair of shoes. I'll be happy if they last one season then will buy them again.
bought these back in August. Was looking for something med height easy to slip into and waterproof. Can't slip into them without using your hand but I do like them snug fit at the ankle to keep stuff out and they are comfortable.
I bought these boots about two months ago. I am a land surveyor and these have exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend them if you spend a lot of time in the woods like I do, they are VERY comfortable and will keep your feet very dry..
bought these boots online no one could beat the price. They were shipped promptly and arrived ahead of time. Would shop online acadamy in the future.
I got these at a great price. Warm, not sure about 20 degrees though
I have only had the chance to wear these a few times, but they are comfortable and waterproof...something my previous snake boots could not hold up their claims of
Very comfortable, light weight and broke in in no time.
