I've been fishing over fifty years and this is the hottest soft plastic bait I ever used. Just cast it near cover and slowly retrieve and the strikes come on almost every cast. Catches more 2-4 lb bass than anything I've ever tried
I guide on the Tidal Potomac with Ken Penrod's Life Outdoors Unlimited guide service. Fished weightless it imitates a wounded bait fish. Add a bullet weight and it mimics a crayfish. Use it with a punch wight & skirt and it makes an awesome punch bait. Like the rest of the Power Bait line, they work and fish do not want to let go of them. I cannot be bothered by a bait that does not produce. This one is definitely a producer.
Been fishing them since they came out and you can use them on a single hook, behind a jig, on a spinner bait or chatter bait, but the best thing to remember is to use them. They catch a lot of fish , but not in the bag. What a great bait with great action, with lots of smell, just don't put them in a coat pocket.
I use this power bait craw primarily for smallmouth bass. You can rig it many different ways, very versitile and works great. I have caught large bass up to 5.5 lbs on this bait. I am sure an over 6 lbs is in my future using this great power bait from Berkley. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought these baits a couple weeks ago The action is lifelike and the trout can't resist them. Highly recommend
For over 20 years I have guided fishing parties for rock, large mouth bass and flounder in Md, Va and Del. Gulp Alive Swimming Mullet is a great product and will be well worth the cost to all serious fisherman. Berkley has always been great at helping fisherman catch more fish and they constantly come out with even better products.
These are the only artificial bait I buy. I've been on the same boat as people using live shrimp, and not even have a bite. I'll throw a Gulp Shrimp out, and be pulling them in left and right! Plus, they're durable, so I can catch a fish, and throw the same Gulp right back out! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My husband and I are avid saltwater fishermen. We can always rely on Gulp! Shrimp to get the job done. Realistic and obviously appealing to several different species of fish. No other brand performs better! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've been using the black or black and blue Grass Pig bait for a little while now, and love it! I've rigged it weightless, weighted, as trailer and my favorite method on swinging jig heads. Its a larger presentation than a standard worm and i can feel the action of the swimbait tail. Nice work! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought some of these last year, near the end of the season and was extremely pleased and have since bought 6 other bags in various colors, they are by far the best soft bait I've ever had the pleasure of using, the bass love them. The weight of them is great, makes for easy casting. The juniors work well too though I find the 5' ones get more hits than the juniors, they are especially great in shallow areas that have weeds. I haven't used any other lure this season, and have been bringing home ... bass every time I go out which is a vast improvement over last year's efforts, large mouth bass eat em up. I've caught anywhere from 8 inchers to 19 inchers on the 5" grass pig.
They hit them when they wouldn't hit anything else
I bought this pack of lures last month to replenish my supply. Since using this lure for the first time in March of this year, I haven't bought minnows ever again! Slabs love Monkey Milk by Bobby Garland!
Bought some of these the other day and threw them on some submerged weed beds and caught 7 bass in an hour
I caught fish on this worm! What else is there to say?
I have used several different brands of finesse worms and I always come back to these. They are durable and have great action. They catch fish, that's what matters to me. I just wished academy carried a few more colors.
These 4" Ripple Mullet, especially the chartreuse tail models, work great on big reds down here in S.W Florida. I fish them in shallow water, over oyster beds and in the mangroves, rigged on a single 5/0, long shank jig hook with one or two lead nail weights stuck in the belly of the bait for stability and added casting weight. They skip under mangroves and docks really well rigged this way; then drop down with the hook up. Reds will often hit them on the drop, or on the bottom. Swimming action ... is excellet; big snook and sea trout also like them.
Bought the baits to try fishing the Texas marsh. Excellent baits. Caught lots of fish. Wish it came in more than a 4 pack without buying the pint size. Hence the 4 stars.
I have been using Gulp Mud Minnow/Croakers for a while now and love them. Fish love them too! I will by buying more!
I through one of these out on a flounder rig.To my suprise they started tearing it up. I ended up catching a speck.
Great for fishing in bayou la batre under the shrimp boat light every time you hit the water you will have a bit
I used the color and caught a lot of crappies and trouts
Got this bait in Mississippi, will be using it in NC this summer. Love the design, it's a gotta have bait. Also, a great price for a bag of 18.
I've been using this staple of a lure for a lifetime. When I was really young I only threw them for crappie + bass. Now I know you can use 'em for just about every species. slow retrieve for founder and reds. Faster for trout. You won't regret this buy!
big bite baits are the only baits I use, and academy sells them cheaper than anyone. totally satisfied!!
Excellent color and action, soft yet does not tear easily
I gave the Mantis Shrimp an average rating due to the bait simply does not hold together long. This is an excellent fish producing bait but Gulp needs to produce it with a bit more toughness. I have noticed the change across the board in soft baits not holding together. I do hope Gulp addresses this problem. Gulp products produce excellent results.
I have used Gulp for several years now, I have not used the Mantis Shrimp yet, but I am sure it will be a good bait. It should have more action than the other Gulp shrimp that I have used, and swear by
The 12" Berkley Power Worm was used to catch several big bass on Lake El Salto in Mexico. I will have several bags of these baits with me when fishing El Salto.
Berkley 12" Power Worms are a must for your tackle! Motor Oil is my favorite!
I use these baits for all sorts of fishing. I have caught crappie, perch, white bass and largemouth on these baits. Great price for a great product. Will be buying more.
I bought the H20 soft plastics a while ago when several were on sale. I have been very impressed with the product. For me, it has out fished all my other plastics, except Gulp. The rattle in there seems to turn the flounder on. I recommend these to anyone looking for soft plastics. FYI - Academy is my Mecca.
