I like the fact that this bike has an aluminum frame to reduce some of the weight. The bike is fun to ride, very smooth, handles the rough terrain extremely well. Only 7 speeds, but for the type of riding you are looking for with a Fat Tire you don't need a lot of gears. Assembly out of the crate was a piece of cake. The price was a good deal, that always helps.
Bought this at a great price from AS. Love the bike in every way.
Bought this bike since I didn't want to spend a great deal of money on a first bike to ride a lot as an adult but didn't want to buy a cheap $100 bike either. The disc brakes work amazing and shifting through the gears was simple and smooth. It rides and coasts incredibly smooth. I am excited to use it more. The seat is very uncomfortable but that's probably true for all bikes like this. Just take $10 and buy a seat cover and you'll be very thankful.
After looking hundreds of bikes through all the big box stores and a couple of specialty bike stores, this is the only good looking multi-purpose bike that offered the 18 speeds, front & back disk brakes and forked suspension for a reasonable price. At 5' 5", most of my previous bikes were smaller (therefore slower) bikes. For this 700c size bike I adjusted the seat close to the lowest setting for optimum leg extension. The angled middle bar enables me to straddle over a leaning bike while ... waiting for traffic lights. My partner, at 6', also fits the bike well so I went back to the store and bought a second duplicate bike. Since it's still a standard sized men's bike frame, shorter riders, like me, will benefit from a bit more leg power to get it started or you can mount the bike from behind. If you ever bring this bike back for adjustments, make sure the service tag details your all your concerns to the tech including a parking lot test instead of just spinning the wheels on a stand. The price is about half of what it cost in a fancy bike stores so it's not going to come with 5-star service. :)
I got this bike for Christmas, and the bike overall is a great bike for the money. Upon delivery, there was a knocking noise when I pedaled and I found a nut loose on the pedal bearing housing, tightened that and it was ok. there was also a brake cable loose and flipping out of the brake handle, so I had to reinstall that. Other than that, the bike has been a very good one. But the assembly before it got to me was not very good.
This is a good entry level MB for folks on a budget. After having a chance to run one on a fairly technical woods trail of several miles, I believe this was a good choice. Thus far it is durable and the ergo setup is easy to deal with. It is well given to being customized by the user. The only real negative that I have discovered with the bike thus far is the brake pads- when applied seriously, the things will raise a ruckus and squall like a injured bird. The brakes do their job and stop well, ... but the factory pads make sure make a fuss of it! Aftermarket pads do alleviate the situation and are affordable, therefore this isn't a deal killer. In my oponion, the Vantage 3.0 is lightweight, rugged and overall a good bike for the money.
Great price. Works perfectly. Use it for riding along the ocean boardwalks...my high end bike is not as good for that purpose..
